The ACC (and most other leagues) generally ask you not to do anything to detract from the conference tournaments. The NCAA would prefer it wait until Monday as well, I'm sure.
Unless something has changed, basketball assistant coaches used to be on year-to-year contracts. That may have changed but I haven't heard anything about that happening. Not saying it hasn't happened; but I would find it a bit surprising, if true.
No way. Roddy is definitely on the downside of his career but his knowledge of route running and getting open in the NFL is something that Smelter will have to learn. Do I think he has the ability? Yes, I do. And given the right system and the quarterback, he may well end up having an...
I hope Smelter gets drafted. But, due to the timing of his injury (very late in the season), it's highly unlikely that he will be available at the beginning of the pro season this year. That's the main reason I think he goes undrafted.
However, I'll bet there are several teams who will have...
I don't think Paul had to "figure out" recruiting at Tech at all. The best thing that happened to CPJ wasn't Ted Roof, although I think that was a very good move. The best move Coach Johnson made was to hire Coach Andy McCollum and bring him in as recruiting coordinator.
Many people don't...
I would think Smelter is likely to be an undrafted free agent purely because of his injury. I don't know about Waller but I think somewhere in the 5th or 6th round is likely.
He has been a bigger kid at every age than Scott and Brad were. He is going to be a brute! And the family is a great family who stresses academics so I would expect he'll be academically capable as well when he gets to that point.
Yeah, I don't think it's the panacea but it's a first step. Just getting the "powers that be" to agree to an earlier signing date is a big step. Those kids who want to wait until signing day to choose the hat...well now, there's going to be another signing day earlier in the process.
But many...
Looks like we may get a brief 2- or 3-day signing period for football as early as this upcoming December.

Well, in fairness, I would imagine that Oregon probably ran 30% more plays (might be even higher) than most other teams. So you would also think that they would have more negative plays. A lot of theirs are short pass plays that are often laterals. If the DB comes up and makes a stop on...
It's 100% a turf thing. My baseball players wear them when we have to play on turf because diving on turf will put some serious carpet burn on the underside of your arms.
I think many of you are wayyyyyyy too hyper-sensitive. (And I'm assuming that the OP was joking).
Well written article.
Bradley admits he was wrong about Tech, how they became a team and even makes the case that we were playing as well as anyone in the country and could make a claim for top...
Corey Dennis and Dennis Andrews both had great nights blocking at the A-back position as well. Andrews had several plays where he put his guy to the ground with emphasis just as the runner was about to get there.
LOL. I thought that was great, too.
I guess I'm an old fart but I didn't realize at the time that Justin was pantomiming that after his long TD run. I just thought he was touching the bottom of each foot but when I saw that GIF request, I realized that he was acting like he was putting out...
From a Notre Dame fan:
"Im not gonna lie. I thought GT was a lil overrated and would be exposed a bit. They are putting on a f'g clinic."
From an FSU fan:
"And GT's best WR couldn't even play.
They have dominated this game from the 1st snap"
And:
(FSU fan)
It's really fun to watch Georgia...
Also, I meant to mention. For anyone not a Brent Musberger fan, you need to go back and listen to last night's game if you turned off the sound. He was effusive in his praise for GT all night long. But he also made a statement at one point that he really has always admired Georgia Tech...
