    Twitter Whiners.

I'm of the opinion that Adam Schefter knows the actual difference between a cut and a chop block. As has been stated, this is probably about getting rid of the high/low in the free zone in NFL and has absolutely zero to do with cut blocking. The idiots who are moaning about GT have no clue...

    2016 Pitching Preview

I've seen Hughes and Gibson pitch. They both have serious arm talent. I coached against Gauvreau when he was in 9 year old Dizzy Dean and have watched him since then. Even at 9 years old, the kid was sitting in the upper 50s and touching 60...when the average pitch speed at the time was 40's...

Recruiting: staff is not the problem

I doubt that he would have been a first rounder, but your point is valid nonetheless. One of the knocks on Shaq was size and that probably would have kept him out of the first round. The fact he played in an option-oriented offense helped his draft stock in one way because there was plenty of...

Recruiting: staff is not the problem

Tech hasn't done it at the level of some of the schools you mentioned, but you should stop saying that it doesn't happen. It does. Just not as flamboyantly.

    Vance Walker is a nerd

Darryl wanted to be an athletic director somewhere. Kid was super, super smart. I'd love if they hired him as one of the assistant AD's at Tech and, once he's had a couple of years experience, replace MDud.

Jordan Woods waxes eloquent about GT....

Best line of the article: On choosing a school based on its national championships: “When the guy who’s offering you a job says, ‘I need a guy who can turn the company around,’ 16 national championships isn’t going to help you.”

STEM Majors Get Bump in GPA

It actually probably helps baseball a whole lot more than it helps football. HOPE is a HUGE part of baseball scholarships since we can only give 11.7 schollies per year. And they are never full scholarships. So any money they get from baseball combines with HOPE to help pay for the college costs.

    ACC to Three Divisions?

I kind of like the idea of 3 divisions. It rustles the jimmies of so many people, I think it might be fun to consider. ;)

Demaryius Thomas’s mother has prison sentence commuted

When Peyton took the final snap today and spiked it, he immediately retrieved the ball and turned around to Demaryius and gave him the game ball. According to Bob Costas, he told him to give the game ball to his mother. Pretty classy move on Peyton's part and if you're going to have a first...

    Post-season/Pre-season Team Workouts

Two different animals. Of course you don't want "beasts" in golf, girl's softball, tennis, and the rest of the sports. Correct me if I'm wrong...but I believe Stanford has yet to even play for a national championship in the last 40 years in football? Yeah...I'll stick with the beasts until...

    Post-season/Pre-season Team Workouts

When Stanford starts winning championships and Bama starts losing them, I'll agree with you. Until then, this is just the next "theory" of how S&C should be done.

    Post-season/Pre-season Team Workouts

Correct. I have a very good friend who coaches HS football in Alabama and has a couple of kids being recruited by Alabama. He said he watched some of the UA workouts one time and said their S&C guy was intense. Said this guy was Saban's secret weapon and said, "This guy builds beasts!"

    ACC Coaches set

Very true, he will no longer have access to the young Mormon men coming back after 2 years of missionary work. However, he now has greater access to a much stronger recruiting base than he did at BYU. My own supposition is that really good coaches are generally pretty good no matter where...

    Looking for Answers in 2015

I'd just have to disagree with you. Gailey recruited not only the 2007 class but the best wide receiver we've probably ever had at the school. Throw in players like Vance Walker and others who are still playing in the NFL as well. We simply haven't had that type of star power or "difference...

    Offseason

Next year, I would expect the offense will be better...merely because of the increased competition and getting players back. On defense, I think we will regress a bit. We have AJ Gray and some of the other bright and promising young defensive backs but any time you lose 4 senior starters in the...

Not an apples-to-apples comparison. In 2005, the NCAA added a 12th regular season game. In the same year, the ACC also added a championship game. Therefore, Johnson has the potential for 14 games with a bowl game. Winning 8 games out of 14 is a winning percentage of 57%. Also, with respect...

    WTF happened...sorta rant

What are you talking about? We had scholarship reductions for 3 years -- 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons. The scholly reductions were finished by the time Paul Johnson took over. The penalties you mention from DRad and the Demaryius Thomas incidents resulted in probation, fines, loss of ACC...

    Pass blocking and next year

Guys...this site used to be really fun to visit. Some great discussion both pro AND con but people actually posted real content. Now it seems that if someone disagrees with you, it's time to go all nuke and criticize that person and call him not even a fan. Coach Johnson is our coach and...
