    Competition

I think some of you watched a different Duke game than I did. To me, I had the same feeling during that game that I had during the Notre Dame game....that the other team was simply more prepared and angry than we were that day. I presume some of you are saying that we have more talent than...

    Refs Horrible

I didn't personally see a hold either but when the defensive lineman gets past you and you continue to ride him to the ground from behind, you're going to see that called as a hold more often than not. We were simply beaten yesterday by a bigger, more physical team. No excuses to be made. With...

Film Study Film Study - Defense vs Alcorn St

To answer your question about Alcorn State's experience, the announcer made the comment that they returned all 11 starters on offense from last year. And that team won their conference last year. They did, however, lose their offensive coordinator and replaced him with the OC from Alabama...

    Dissappointed with fan experience

Hmmm....well I happen to know Jerry from meeting him at many events. He's one of the die-hard guys who is there at EVERYTHING. Comes to the home games, is there at signing day, shows up for the weekly call in show, etc. If a fan that dedicated is starting to question whether or not he wants...

    ESPN likes Georgia Tech???

Correct. But we also usually add a second day of hitting in during off weeks.

    ESPN likes Georgia Tech???

According to someone who should absolutely know the truth...it doesn't happen in fall until the scout teams start up. We do some drills where they see other stuff but no live contact where our offense is running other than our offense.

    ESPN likes Georgia Tech???

It actually does happen a bit during the spring practices. Ted Roof asked for that concession as part of his agreement when he took the job. So, during spring, our offense will mix in some plays that are run out of shotgun or 4 WR sets, etc. Not a lot of them but enough so that our defense...

    ESPN likes Georgia Tech???

33jacket is correct. We DO practice exclusively against our own triple-option-based offense in the spring and in the beginning of fall practices. In fact, we only began running a scout team last Monday, once fall camp was over and the players had moved out of the hotel. When we start game...

How do you get fired up for 6a conditioning workouts?

Yeah, he's a legit 6'5". I'm 6'2" and he makes me feel small standing beside him. Both are great kids. They mentioned that they felt like that they had a slight advantage over some of the incoming freshmen because each one of them has a built-in work out partner and they push each other...

How do you get fired up for 6a conditioning workouts?

The big, white kid who moves into the very left of the screen at about 12 seconds is Scott Morgan....the twin who will play on the offensive line. I saw them at Etowah's graduation and noticed just how big they both had gotten but especially Scott. Seeing him beside those other guys, it's...

    Michael Johnson Graduation Interview

I don't miss Chan Gailey as our coach but I do miss the open practices he used to have. During Michael's time at Tech, my son and I had a chance to speak with Michael and his dad, Colonel Johnson many times. There's no doubt where Michael got his training from as Colonel and Mrs. Johnson are...

    My son's senior project

GTMom, that's a really nice bike. Your son did a great job on that! Thank you all for the kind comments. Yes, I'm very proud of the bike but more so, I'm proud of Logan staying with it...even when it was a lot more work than he had originally thought it would be. All in all, we have...

    My son's senior project

Thanks. I'm proud of the way it turned out and, of course I'm keeping it for me to ride. Who wouldn't want a bike that was restored by his son? Here's a few more before & after photos of some of the parts: Here's one fork before polishing/sanding and the other after polishing/sanding:

    My son's senior project

Just thought you guys might enjoy seeing what my son did for his senior project since it has a bit of a Georgia Tech flair. Since August, he and I have been working on restoring a classic 1978 Honda CB750 motorcycle. He didn't repaint it in the original color (red) but I couldn't complain...

Does "Sanford Stadium catch on fire and burn to the ground" count as an acceptable answer?

Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

I think this might not be correct. The founder of UA is a Maryland grad and I believe I read somewhere that he used them for all his research and testing. And that's why they get the UA stuff before everyone else. Edited: well the UA site says he founded the company in 1996. Friedgen came...

Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

Robert Carter left because he thinks he has a shot at the pros as a 3, but he was being forced to play as a 4, and sometimes a 5 at Tech because we had no one better than him at the time at those positions.

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

IIRC, Tech had little choice on the timing of firing him when they did. Hewitt's contract had an auto-rollover feature that kicked in if he was still employed at a certain date. Tech had to fire him pretty much immediately to avoid having the rollover kick in.
