Honest question. Does anyone have any concrete info on what Pitt and USF's facilities are and how they compare to ours? It seems like everyone is just assuming ours are better.
I think that would depend on if the fan in question wants to actually help the program grow to where they incessantly tell everyone it should be or if they're more interested in having a sense of smug self-righteousness.
I didn't call you a UGA fan. Read it again. You're making my point about sports fans for me.
And who cares about the reputation from a bunch of internet randos? Cut blocking is legal and ubiquitous in the NFL, the NCAA, and I'd wager it's the same in high school as well. Except when Georgia...
That's a pretty easy answer. Generally speaking, sports fans are a lot dumber than they think they are and don't know as much as they think they do. They'd rather believe some narrative they heard from someone who heard it from someone else than form their own opinion.
Try thinking for yourself...
I think this undersells them actually. Including Saturday's game, USF is 31-9 since 2015 winning 30 of their last 36. They've won 6 of their last 7 vs Power 5 teams. They've finished ranked in top 25 each of the last two seasons and have a real good coaching staff. They're a solid program...
Just fyi practice squad players don't get the NFL minimum. They get much less. I think it's between $100K-$110K so it's not bad at all but it's not $420,000.
Here's the excerpt from Justia that references playing fields:
Seems pretty clear to me. I don't think the school could do much in an official capacity. But IANAL and have been wrong before.
I think the relevant case would be Tinker v. Des Moines and it states that a student's rights of expression in school extend beyond just the classroom. IIRC it specifically states the "playing field" too. So if that's a public school I have a hard time seeing how that policy would fly if...
Hey I said I was going to try. I made no guarantees. I'm only human. :)
For the record when I use the phrase "I would say" in a sentence that's me waving a big ol' flag in your face to show you that what comes next is my opinion and that I'm aware of that. I'm not trying to sneak one by you...
Since I don't think anyone attempted to answer your question I'll take a swing at it. I'm going to try and keep as much of my opinion out of is as possible
Sometime before the 2016 NFL season Colin Kaepernick decided that he was no longer going to stand for the national anthem at the beginning...
Listen. People, including myself, go on message boards to have discussions. You made a statement based on a theory. I made a statement on why I didn't think it was a good theory. This is called a discussion. Pro-tip: If you can't handle people challenging or discussing your "theories"...
I would assume no for them as well since their QB depth charts are full and they already have quality QBs. As for the "path to resolution" I think that's because Kaepernick didn't anticipate the firestorm he was going to create. You're not going to hear me me say he's handled the situation...
Oh please. I'm not butt-hurt about Colin Kaepernick. I was ride or die with Alex Smith. Kap's not on the 49ers anymore so I don't give a **** if he plays another snap in the NFL or not. Worlds going to keep turning either way.
"This guy doesn't think what I think! He must be brainwashed!"...
As far as I know Shahid Khan of the Jaguars was the only owner on the field interlocking arms with his players. So we're talking about one guy here. And I obviously don't know anything specifically but I'd guess no there as the top of their QB depth chart has been filled since Bortles was...
I never said the owners were blacklisting him. That implies collusion between a group of owners. It's not the same thing. Please don't put words in my mouth.
The Denver Broncos spent weeks trying to trade for him. The defending Super Bowl champions were looking to trade for him to be their starting QB after Manning's retirement. There was an agreement in place between the two teams if Kaepernick agreed to restructure his contract. He declined to...
