I've pointed this out before on here. It's why Vanderbilt has massive recruiting classes with mega talent every year. They can give kids scholarships and have it not count towards the NCAA maximum. They'll give the same kind of scholarship to non-athletes too though so there's the NCAA...
Well those guys have completed a full season of college baseball. Curry and Hughes haven't. It's probably better to limit their innings now so they don't hit a wall at the end of the season. And I said it another thread but one of those Florida starters is Alex Faedo who is a potential top-5...
Except they specifically said they believe in our pitching talent as to why they ranked us. It's right there. They said it.
I think he's just giving him a chance to show something. I doubt you'll see him in tightly contested games versus better competition.
Relieving is easier than starting so I doubt that's the problem. He's had two serious shoulder injuries in two years. To put it simply I think he's done.
Haha just a slow Friday afternoon at work. And I wouldn't exactly call it optimism but I'm not going to stress myself out less than ten games into the season. Baseball's like a stew. You have let the season develop a bit to see what you have. You're going to lose a few games along the way...
I think that's like holding the OL coach accountable for his 4 out his starting 5 breaking their legs every year he's been here. Not much he can do. The guys who have been healthy have developed fairly well.
The writing is not on the wall 7 games into the season. The cap isn't even off the sharpie yet. It's probably still on the desk.
King being limited shouldn't surprise anyone and I'd guarantee our coaches have accounted for that. He's essentially missed two seasons with shoulder injuries...
Or you don't make sweeping changes after only two starts? Especially when one of them was pretty good. Losing your job after a single bad start is a bad message to send. That's a good way to destroy the confidence of your pitchers and have them pitching scared. You gotta have patience. As a...
You're absolutely right. It's not close at all. All of these have already actually happened. On or very close to US soil.
That's because he's not looking for a conversation. He's looking for an echo chamber.
It's a school of thought that's becoming more prevalent in MLB that you should avoid having your starting pitcher avoid going through a line-up more than twice if you can and absolutely do not let them go through a line-up for a fourth time unless the score isn't close or the pitcher is...
I'm not trying to say these games are gimmies. I'm trying to say that if we take care of business during conference play the results of these games won't matter. That's how strong the conference is.
I'm a huge Yankee fan. I'd be pretty pumped if they managed it. But I'm still excited for the season even though I don't like their chances. They haven't had this much young talent in a long long time.
If the Yankees win the Wild Card it will have been a very good year. There's a lot question marks but a lot of potential. There's going to be growing pains. I don't think they can swing it.
