last post on this subject. Trey is not afraid of competition, He is a very respectful young man. Honestly one of the finest young men I have ever meet.
I really wish they would close this thread. I get sick and tired of reading OPINIONS and THEORIES when, other than those like you with inside information, nobody really knows anything.

Trey said he didn't have problem with the offense, the coaches (especially CPJ), or the team. He just wasn't happy in Atlanta, and wants to get closer to home to get his MBA and play out his eligibility. Sounds like a smaller school in smaller conference full academically well respected schools up North is where he's headed (ahem...http://patriotleague.org/index.aspx?path=football).

I'm going to take his word for it. Sometimes when a guy says something he means it. We don't always need to think something dark and sinister is afoot.

I really don't get the black and white thing on this board and why this thread was locked. I think we can simultaneously think the world of Trey and our coaches, and admit that maybe he needed a new environment. No one needs any blame. Kelly reported that he wasn't seeing eye to eye with Sewak, and that's perfectly alright. He publicly said all the right things which is what any public figure should do. He came to Tech to get his degree and by god he got it (in an incredibly short time no less). Now he has the freedom to make a choice he feels is best for him.

That being said, as a fan of tech, I hate to lose clear contributors and upper claassmen. But I'm just a fan so who cares what I think.

Going from memory, but I think Northwestern is a top 2/3 or top 5 MBA Program in most rankings. So most importantly, that's a hell of a place to get your MBA. WELL DONE TREY! Second, he's playing somewhere other than Tech, so from a football perspective it ultimately didn't matter. I don't ever want us to lose anybody, but if we do I always hope for nothing but the absolute best from them. Looks to me like he landed in a pretty ideal spot. I hope he gets a chance at a lot of playing time!

Good to see. Ever since I moved to the midwest NW has always been my favorite B10 team. I think because they've always reminded me of GT in some ways. Small school in a big city, great education and on the field or hardwood they're always overlooked.

NW MBA per the Economist is no 2 behind U chicago and ahead of stanford and Dartmouth. We are 51.

No wonder he left. What an opportunity!

Met him and family at tech center after game when he was injured. He was so upbeat and super positive about overcoming the injury -like nothing this small will impact me.

Probably going to hear more good things about this guy and I bet he says that gt was good for him.

When a S/A graduates with eligibility left

- do they have to be in a Master's program to stay at the school that has invested so much in them? Can they not just take more classes to enhance what they have learned?

- assume they can not go to another school in same conference?

You are right that they don't need to be in a Masters program. Yet, you can understand why someone who graduates with 2 yrs of eligibility may want to work toward a Masters degree.
