No comment on that lol. I was just curious as to why at this point the lack of intrest in him given the state of the search . or is it that obvious?
Doubt you show up to ask the question if you're not kind of hoping we snag him from you so you can hire an up & comer.

Thanks for the replies i was just curious as why he emerged then feel off completely . I agree the MTN west was a great conference up until 3 years ago and we have fallen flat as of late . I think alot of his struggles here the last two season were in part due to his son and craig trying to make cullen something he is not . and injuries no excuses but i was just curious to would fan base be happy with him at this point in the search . I would have to believe that he has been contacted by now. if you have questions for me in regards to craig ill happily answer or the situation with cullen . the media and craig blew that up and it was not what it seemed
Im not sure he ever really emerged. Every time coaching changes are discussed at GT Craig Neal, and Mark Price are the first two names mentioned simply because they played here. Im not sure either has ever been a serious candidate.

Actually i was generally curious i love these boards and love to talk hoops and given the state of the AD screw up here i was truly curious as to why he isnt getting a hard look from MBOB obviously he wasnt first choice but at this point why not NOODLES compared to some of the other names im hearing ? I mean school ties hes a decent recruiter to boot? Im curious if offered if he would jump at the chacne or has GT fallen to were A LOBO job is better at this point? I mean i know we have better facilities and better fan base but acc to MTN west? I truly appriciate the replies and im leaving my personal opinion on neal out as i want to understand why the lack of fan intrest in him? i think based on the comments you see what we see as well so that is fine

Let's hire another coach with no Power 5 coaching experience. That has worked really well in football. Gailey had no FBS experience, but he was an NFL guy. Worked really well, didn't it?
Then we hired Johnson, who had no Power 5 experience and no experience at any FBS conference school. His FBS win % at GT is even lower than Gailey's.

So, I'm guessing this administration will hire Larranaga. They like to make the same mistakes over and over.
hm most coaches start at a lower college and work their way up Urban Meyer started at toledo same with basketball coach K started at army thats how you earn jobs doing well at smaller schools

Don't put that evil on me, Rocky Bobby!

Bdz was a failed HC a couple times over before he robbed Wake, tho. Apples to oranges, sir. Apples to oranges.

To add to that, some fonts are beginning to take information gleaned from here, there, and everywhere, and put their own spin on it. That is distorting everyone's view and adding fuel to everyone's anger over the situation.

I'm not trying to knock GlennW, but he has no idea what has gone on behind the scene, yet he is speaking as if he is BD's agent. I'm just saying that we need to pump the brakes, take a deep breath and let things play out.

Then we can all jump off the cliff together if ends up being someone we have never heard of. Get on the phone Mike Lonergan

Don't shoot the messenger - like I said before, I pull info from a lot of sites and just pass along when I hear it more than once. To be honest, I don't even follow the basketball program; it's too damn frustrating.

better facilities as in the PIT top 20 nationally each year in attendance . rabid fan base so i was curious if he would jump at the job. But i agree if offerened noodles would leave in a heart beat. I want to open the discussion back up as now there are no prominent names out there is neal to the fans considered a good choice at this point and time given the state of the search . IE of the low mid names your hearing would you rather take a chance on him? In reality the likelyhood of it happening are slim but i was just curious as to after **** hit the fan why he didnt get a hard look?>

Imo, if NM had dominated its conf, or close, he would get a look, but the reflex against hiring a Tech man is probably more prevalent today than the impulse to hire one.

Has there been a follow up from what you have seen?

I'd still rather roll the dice on a young, hungry, crackerjack recruiter (i.e. - Kevin Keatts, Matt McCall, Pat Kelsey) than Craig Neal. It's a high risk/high reward proposition, but it also gives us time to learn if Mark Price will ever be worth giving the job to in the future.

I agree with those that say we shouldn't hire Mark Price today because he has no track record. That said, if he builds a good track record at Charlotte, that becomes a different story.

I've got no interest in Neal at this point, regardless.

Agree The Pit is a great place from what I've seen, but that's arena atmosphere, which is different from the facility itself.

You do indeed have a really good fan base. However, that would be a no on facilities. GT recently upgraded gym is a much better facility.
