I was just trying to fit in with the strange sentiments that seem to be popping up here over the last 3 pages. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You're going to drive yourself crazy before this is all said and done if you're looking for us to handle the situation with an abundance of grace and class. That's just not the nature of the beast.

It's gonna be a madhouse and it's gonna repeat itself after the hire is made. Then we'll all settle in and root on the Jackets like always. (y)

MBob is totally giving us the middle finger right now. "Oh, you want to talk bad about the job I've done so far at GT?! Well, I'm not giving anyone any information during the job search so you heathens can tear each other apart with rumors and innuendo. I'm keeping all my marbles..."

In all seriousness, I respect the way the GT search hasn't gone off the media rails. Totally different vibe than last go 'round. Gotta give MBob credit with keeping things from going all UNLV with finding our next coach.

I agree with you but I have a lot of concerns on your last statement. If Bobinski hires "the wrong candidate" according to our fans, people just won't show up. It is extremely important for the fan base to give any coach a chance or we can run into the endless loop of mediocrity.

I'm unrealistic but I think I should at least try

Also something else to keep in mind, we will find out very quickly how good the coach is as a recruiter because he will have 3 signees he will need to convince to stay committed.

He (arguably) hired the wrong guy last time and folks showed up. Folks basically gave him a 3-year grace period. Some folks gave him excuses for the losing even into this year! We'll be here no matter who he hires (unless it's Seth Greenberg).

BKE..you got 10 mins left!

If no presser, does @bke1984 take a self-ban?

Place has been pretty empty since Hewitt left...

I don't have Soundcloud access at work and won't be able to listen for a little while. If anyone can give this a listen and get thoughts, it would be appreciated. Winston Neal is a former GT walk-on.

I didn't realize how religious Valpo is. Not sure it would have an impact either way, but found it interesting when I went to the Valpo boards to see what they were saying about Drew possibly leaving, and something like 40% of the comments were about his strong Lutheran faith and whether the potential schools would be a good fit for that. Most seemed to think Vandy would be the most tempting place for him, but generally had nice things to say about GT's rep as well.

Here is Drew's Dove Care commercial to hear him speak a bit:

Hehe. OK, I was wrong. I had really hoped we'd have this ironed out before the coaches convention, but it looks like that's not going to be the case.

After all that has been, and will be said about future coaching, this makes the most sense.

- Said weekend is about talking with coaches on all levels, etc.
- You won't see the AD's with openings around because they'd get mobbed.
- Rice-to-Vandy was thought to be done deal, everyone wondering why he hasn't gotten it. Clearly they're interviewing other candidates.
- Vandy appears to be looking into NBA guys.
- Capel is hot name among assts. Name being thrown around but question is "does he want to leave Duke? He's said to be Coach-in-waiting at Duke (rumored to be).
- Said lobby of Hilton is packed with coaches in meet/greet session but real interviews occur out of sight in coaches' rooms based on 'who you know'.

I'm at approx. the 5min mark, starting to break down game analysis. I'll add more if they get back to pertinent topics.
