UNC announces it is switching undergraduate courses to 100% online effective Wednesday.
Students can cancel contracts with Carolina Housing with no penalty and residents with hardships will have the option to remain on campus

So 0.001 of the campus tests positive, and not a single person is sick yet, and they cancel classes. That’s called protecting the faculty. Good for them. You know behind the scenes the professors were raisin holy “I told you so” hell. Now who after moving in and spending the money is going to request to move back out away from their friends? Probably also about 0.001. THEY GOT YOUR MONEY SUCKAS.

That said, there are significant false negative cases. Once again, false negative. Not false positives

What people have these significant false negative cases. List them (not names). I'm not trying to be a ****. It's just that I've seen statements like these readily defeated when it turns out, well my "sister's friend" or "person who goes to church with my cousin", etc., and sometimes each of those cases were actually people reporting the same rumor over and over.

See how that works?

I’m not giving names. I personally know several high school kids (I have 2 active high school children - son plays high school football and his sister is a cheerleader) who tested positive and got another test the same day from a different location and tested negative. One is my daughters boyfriend who runs cross country for his high school. Its to the point now where most families I know with high school athletes don’t report any test results because they know the likelihood of testing negative within the next few days is high. It’s really become a joke which is why I have no problem with kids being kids. Even the ones I personally know who tested positive and had a fever or some cough were over it in a few days. And before you yell at me for not caring, my mid 70 year old parents haven’t left their house in Lawrenceviile since March and I’m encouraging them to keep it that way because they are the ones at risk, not healthy young people.

Dr. fair is a virologist on contract with NBC News. He was in the hospital for weeks, and tested negative all four times. He insists he had COVID-19. Who knows? There are many viruses that can cause those symptoms. My wife is a nurse and says it feels fairly common that people come in showing COVID-19 symptoms and test negative. It’s enough that th state of South Carolina actually reports it in their own separate category - presumed positive cases and presumed deaths. Those are people being treated as if they have it and those who died who were presumed to have it but only ever tested negative.

Not sure how "fans in the stands" is going to reasonably possibly infect the players and coaches "way down" on the field.

I understand possibly infecting those around them, but not the players. So... why not allow fans in the stands for those willing to attend with a mask?
I was told that 40% of the season ticket holders want to still go and they thought they all of them could but may not seat together. He said if your in a group and you only but 2 tickets those seats would be together. That was a few weeks ago if things have not changed.

What money did they get?

If someone stays on campus, they still get what they paid for. If someone leaves campus, they get a refund.

What money were the students tricked out of?

All of it. They’re not going through all the effort of buying things and moving in only to turn around and leave. They’re not getting what they paid for with online classes. But it was never about that, nor was it ever about their health and safety. With every passing day, all of this goes exactly how we predicted. So let’s play some football!

I still don't understand. They paid for classes and housing. The classes continue. The housing can continue if they choose, or they can get a refund if they choose. What did they pay for that they are not getting?

You mean they got a cold or the flu? That just doesn’t happen in 2020. There’s no flu or cold season this year. It’s 100% covid, haven’t you got the word?

>LOL, its hard to see how this commissioner Warren is going to keep his job.
It is 'unclear' whether Big Ten presidents formally voted to nix 2020 college football season
"
Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour became the second Big Ten administrator to question whether a formal vote was taken to cancel the fall 2020 college football season . ....
Last week, Minnesota president Joan Gabel offered a similar sentiment. "We didn't vote, per se. It's a deliberative process where we came to a decision together," she said. "But I absolutely support the decision that we came to."

I’ve been following the BigTen stories extremely close this past week. This Warren has a MESS on his hands. All it takes is that one blue blood in your conference to turn on you (OhioState) but hell he has 3 or 4 of the blue bloods on his butt, and even some of the middle of the road programs. It’s a real mess for him and he doesn’t deserve all the crap he’s getting. But like some in the media are saying, I’m sorry but it comes with the job bud.

The current positive test rate on the UNC campus is 13.6% (just slightly higher than 0.001), after being less than 3% one week ago. they were also down to just 4 quarantine rooms left on campus. And your comment about no one is sick yet is also categorically false, the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor have both said there are sick students.

I was referring to how many students tested positive. Who cares what the positive test rate on a college campus is. Test the whole campus and get a 0.001 rate if that makes you sleep better at night.

I say we play 13-15 games and schedule Ohio State and Michigan and anybody else who wants to play.

To be fair there were 130 out of 50k. That’s .0026. It was no where near 13.6% which would be 6800. They got the tuition and room/board collected and they can play football now. That’s the important part.
