Clinch was a prime example of someone who had all the physical tools and just NEEDED.....SOMEONE....TO COACH him. A mentor. A role model. Something. Could have been will Bynum. Same game. But just.....dang

Where is Lewis now? I'll find out

He had been running his own business called Pro Guard Development. He recently signed to play in Iceland. Put up 29-7-7 in the last box I saw.

It's gonna be interesting to watch the progress made during the season, not wins and losses. I think we could win 3-4 games early and still not know much about our team. The Ohio game would be tough even if we're better than I expect. If we're 5-0 before the B1G challenge game against Penn State, Pastner is a genius.

Article on team and what Pastner wants out of them - with a few scouting reports thrown in for good measure.

http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/102016aaa.html

Couple of quotes:
"Pastner was hired too late, in April, to hand-pick recruits at will. Justin Moore, a point guard in title, will be the only freshman fetched to The Flats by the new coach."
#LateStart
"He continually refers to "process," and keeps hammering away, making clear the way he wants to play, employing metaphors on the way."
#Process

It is what it is.

KenPom has us ranked 107th overall, which is a little surprising, as I would imagine he would take in to account the statistical ipact of losing so much production.

I posted earlier that CJP would need to be a genius to coach us to 5-0, but Kenpom says we SHOULD be 5-0. Hell, we might even be a toss up with Penn State and Tennessee. We could be 7-0 and ranked by the time we play VCU. (tic)

Of course, maybe Kenpom has not checked our roster as closely as they should.

Thank you Kenpom for the ray of hope!! Perhaps this low expectations will make this group hungry and they prove us all wrong.

Everyone seems so resigned to the fact that we will have a terrible season, that I'm afraid that it may become a self-fulfilling prophecy if we are not careful.

We need life and positive energy around the program.. I'm really hoping this year's squad comes together and surprises people.

Link to scouting report on Okogie (with links for every other player) from AJC.
includes comments by Pastner on each player.

I looked back at our roster to see who had not yet been profiled and saw Shaheed Medlock. I had forgotten about him. Given his athleticism and defensive chops, don't be surprised to see him on the floor some this year. I am interested to see what CJP has to say about him.

Mathews is the only scholarship player yet to be profiled.
