The call was bad as the light shove in the back by our #39 did happen but it did not appear to impact the Vsndy player. That was a call that is not unreasonable on the field but officials should gather as they did and wave off the penalty as it did not cause the defender to run into Stockton.I don’t know how a gunner on a punt team, after being blocked toward the returner, can tackle him without the ball and take him to the ground, keeping him from covering the ball.
Seems to me there’s a penalty there for defensive holding. You cannot tackle a player w/o the ball. If you’re blocked into him, you have to try to avoid him or run into him, but you cannot tackle him. That’s a bogus call that directly affected the game.
I was there and booing as well. Left at the delay because my 75 year old dad was soaked and needed to get him back and dried off and warmed up. Just one of the most miserable games I've been to.There were audible boos for the majority of the second half. The team knew they were getting screwed and most of the crowd agreed.
Y’all acting like Philo didn’t know HK would be the starter in this game all along, or that the starter is gonna usually play the whole game.
Nothing tonight would remotely be different information compared to what he was thinking a week ago.
A team that plays UGA even and beats Miami should blow out some teams. If they don’t, there’s a coaching question in my book. IMO this is a big area Key needs to work on. If the team that was ready to play UGA showed up to play Duke or UNC or NCST or even tonight, then there’s would’ve been some blow out P4 wins. That translates to the teams were pretty even. We did not blow out a P4 team this year. King being injured was a major factor. Watching today he is no where close to be able to throw as he did last year.
But he cannot tackle a player who hasn’t touched the ball. But that's after the light push in the back, so no interference.
Vanderbilt played Texas even and beat Alabama. There's another team on the other side of the ball, don't forget. I think Tech fans in general underestimated them.A team that plays UGA even and beats Miami should blow out some teams. If they don’t, there’s a coaching question in my book. The team lacks depth to blow out teams. We have very good starters but not the best behind them. I feel like that is where a lot of the inconsistency comes from because there will always be injuries/guys who need to sit a play or two. That being said I think we have done an amazing job at starting to rebuild that depth and it will only get better.A team that plays UGA even and beats Miami should blow out some teams. (Last year it was even worse, ofc, losing big to BG and BC…)
Eh, but he was blocked in the back. We got lucky that wasn't called. But he cannot tackle a player who hasn’t touched the ball.
The flip side of the coin is the team is peers with Duke, UNC, and NCST. They played way above their ability against UGA and Miami. Lost one in OT and held on for a big win in the other.A team that plays UGA even and beats Miami should blow out some teams. If they don’t, there’s a coaching question in my book. You married to one of those refs? You sure are defending them with all your honor.Eh, but he was blocked in the back. We got lucky that wasn't called.
I think we're making amazing progress. But it isn't a straight line, and we shouldn't expect it to be.The flip side of the coin is the team is peers with Duke, UNC, and NCST. They played way above their ability against UGA and Miami. Lost one in OT and held on for a big win in the other.
Likely if we played UGA 10 games we win no more than 3. Miami maybe 4 at most. Both of them are more talented.
We are far more talented than two years ago and getting more talented each year. Progress is hard when you are coming from the depths we were in 3 years ago.
What? Just because you get pushed a little doesn’t mean you can go commit another foul. If he interferes with a catch after the push, that is negated, but you cannot then tackle a player w/o the ball.Eh, but he was blocked in the back. We got lucky that wasn't called.
Duke or UNC or NCST wins, what, 1 of those 10 against UGA? Maybe? The flip side of the coin is the team is peers with Duke, UNC, and NCST. They played way above their ability against UGA and Miami. Lost one in OT and held on for a big win in the other.

I knew there was a reason you were once on ignore. Back you go...You married to one of those refs? You sure are defending them with all your honor.
We should honestly be impressed that Will Kiker is apparently so unbelievable strong that a slight touch from his hand actually flung a vandy player 10 yards down field full speed into Bailey Stockton
Until you play like you are much better than an opponent you are not much better. We beat all three but two were down to the last 16 seconds.Duke or UNC or NCST wins, what, 1 of those 10 against UGA? Maybe?
We aren’t peers with UGA yet but we are better than those other teams at this point. But we don’t play like it for a full 60 minutes yet.
Why not? A guy who gets pushed still cannot tackle a guy who hasn’t touched the ball. You can’t do that. Our PR never touched the ball.
Push him? He barely touched him. The defender “touching” the gunner in no way even affected the angle that the gunner was taking towards our KR,Tech player pushed the Vandy gunner away from the punt returner but it didn’t change his momentum at all. Should have been a foul.
