I watched the "gold-out" on TV and it didn't look good. There was a lot of gold in the stands. The problem is old gold is not "bright" enough. Maybe the Buzz Gold would work (pantone 124), but not the "old gold" (pantone 874). If the had a "gold-out" with the Buzz Gold, it'd probably work.
Again, there were too many different shades of gold for it really to have much impact, but looking across from the east upper deck to the west side, I saw more gold than I ever have before. I still think if EVERYBODY would wear gold (preferably the same shade), it WOULD stand out, even on TV. Even to try that to see if it would work, it would require a dedicated effort by Tech marketing, and I'm not sure Tech marketing is dedicated to much of anything.

Those Oregon unis were popular...and absolutely fugly. If you swapped the swoosh for a Russell R they'd be booed off the face of the earth.

somebody help me out here - if you buy from the GT bookstore, isn't that a uniform shade of gold? That's where I get my gameday apparel, and I see plenty of others wearing the same. BUT I also see people wearing crap that looks like they purchased it in 1985 or from goodwill. It's a damn shame that every single UK fan in Jax was instantly recognizable and the GT fans were "everyone else".

I've never been able to find anything in gold of any shade at the GT bookstore that fits, and I am not an irregularly sized man. They just never seem to have anything I want in gold and in XL

Went to the GT Bookstore website. On the first TEN pages of men's apparel, with 12 items per page, I counted EIGHT items in a yellow/gold color. Than is 6.67%

Seems like a no-brainer to me
@CuseJacket Serious question. Any way we can try to get a Q+A with Todd or another member of the AA where we can have a civil discussion about things we'd like to see and what they think/are planning on?

If we need to buy them lunch I'd be more than willing to pitch in for their beer. (like a reddit AMA is what I'm thinking)

Fan interaction w/ the AD is generally limited to alumni functions or other school events. For now I'd look to North Metro alumni network's lunch bunches or events advertised through GT newsletters. I'm well connected with my local alumni network and just sent an email with a question about including Todd in a future event.

yea I was thinking something purely online like we start a thread with a bunch of questions then an assistant AD comes in and replies to them.

From what I understand, you can probably email questions directly to them and they're good about replying. Is there something about a group dynamic that would be beneficial? Feel free to send me a PM since we're off topic now.

He's correct. The last time we won 9 games was in 2008. The next year we won 11 and in 2014 we won 11, but the last year we won "9" was in 2008.
Not to nitpick but winning more than 9 includes winning 9. Had he said "the last time they won exactly nine" I'd let it slide. In any case it's not clear what point he was trying to make and how that was substantiating evidence.

The point he was making is that the year following our last 9-win season we went to the Orange Bowl. So, he was suggesting there is much reason to be optimistic for 2017 if you're a Yellow Jacket. His comment was encouraging and optimistic; i.e. maybe we'll see a New Year's Day bowl or maybe higher.
