Interesting comments about line splits changing on passing downs.

Better for passing, worse for running the option.

Worse for running the veer, not the option. We actually put in a zone option concept last year that was a zone triple off of a standard split zone block for the redzone. We messed the read up when we ran it but it was in there.

From some of the pictures it looks like #60 Brad Morgan with the first team.
The morgans are rs juniors. Didnt play as freshman, r s freshman, and almost none as rs soph.
They came in with Will who is a senior and who has played for 3 years.

Could sewak want 3 seniors at r tackle- will, stick, marshall?. That would be crazy.

I say its just sewak giving the brad a chance to show what he can do compared to will.

Having a lineman that can play guard and tackle is a great benefit to team. Imo he is a guard. Cant wait for spring game

Entirely valid. I often use the two interchangeably but you're exactly right.

In fact, on some double options it's probably better to have tight splits, to suck the linebackers inside and give the offensive players better blocking angles.

So nobody has commented on this yet but did I hear right that Jalen is bench pressing 380? That’s absolutely insane for a WR. Try and wrestle the ball away from him.

According to the article below, a 1 rep max of 385 would translate to about 24 reps of 225 (the NFL combine bench press test).

Now, for fun, go to this handy dandy link to this year’s top NFL combine performers in bench press at WR...

I like "measureables" as much as the next guy. But I want to see some WRs who can get SEPARATION. Strength is great to have with jump balls , but I want to see some DBs lose their footing or overreact to a fake and give the WR some space.
