We will be able to pass. It will be similar to the offense we ran with Godsey at QB where we can do it all. I can’t wait.
I think the TE position will be key.
It has been interesting to watch the game evolve. Defenses emphasized to stop the run game with big linebackers. So offenses started to throw more and attack the seams with quick slot receivers.
Defenses adjusted with quicker pass defending linebackers then to nickel backs and flooding the middle of the field with zone pass defenders.
Offenses adjusted with the flat passing attack to stretch defenses horizontally, but I think the defenses are compensating by recruiting perimeter defenders to defend the flat passing game.
But now defenses are spread out and will be vulnerable to the power rushing attacks. Defenses will be forced to stack the box. That means TE's that can block and go out in routes in the middle of the field could be the next big thing on offense.
We might have the personnel to do that.
