Update after week 4:
vs NON PWR 5 FBS: SEC 14-3, ACC 11-3
vs FCS: SEC 5-0, ACC: 11-1
vs BIG10: SEC 0-1, ACC 3-1
vs PAC 12: SEC 2-0, ACC 0-1
vs BIG 12: SEC 1-1, ACC 0-1
HEAD to HEAD: ACC 3 wins, SEC 2 wins

So: all totaled against PWR 5 (includes ND): SEC 5-5, ACC 7-5

Give the SEC credit for scheduling more non PWR 5 FBS teams than ACC and fewer FCS games thus far. Give ACC credit for a winning record head to head AND scheduling two more games vs PWR 5 opponents and winning them. At this point the mighty SEC has no claim to anything other than being another average conference in CFB. If forced to choose, I would select the ACC resume.

Just as I was gleefully getting ready to pencil in another L for the SEC, Vandy wiggled off the hook against WKY. It was joyful times for me following the UGA-MISS score on my phone. You think we have problems? Imagine if it was 45-0 for us against a 1-2 team.
After week 5:
vs NON PWR 5 FBS: SEC 16-3, ACC 13-3
vs FCS: SEC 6-0, ACC 11-1
vs BIG 10: SEC 0-1, ACC 3-1
vs PAC 12: SEC 2-0, ACC 0-1
vs BIG 12: SEC 1-1, ACC 0-1
HEAD to HEAD: ACC 3 wins, SEC 2 wins

All totaled vs PWR 5 (includes ND): SEC 5-5, ACC 7-6

We will see where the polls are tonight.

It looks like Tennessee has the inside track to the SEC East Championship.
For sure. They have a tough cross division draw vs Bama @A&M that could give them 2 losses to open the door again for Florida after the dogs have another Jacksonville disaster

I think Tennessee goes 10-2,Florida goes 9-3 and UGAG finishes 3rd with a 7-5 record.

That sounds about right. Until del Rio comes back Florida's offense will be pretty toothless. Their D is solid but they'll probably drop a game where they can't match scores

As of right now i think Florida loses to Arkansas and FSU. I think Tennessee if they lose the SECCG will play in the Citrus Bowl while Florida plays in the Outback Bowl and UGAG plays in the Belk Bowl.

Right now, do you think the SEC east has a really good coaching staff? Since Spurrier, CMR, and Urban left, I don't see a very good coach at this time.

So, it looks like the SEC has the highest ranked 0-loss team (BAMA) and the highest ranked 2-loss team in (MISS). I find it interesting that FSU and MISS have the same exact record and FSU beat them head to head, but MISS is ranked 10 spots higher. Go figure. What is the value of rankings I ask?

We don't quite suck as much anymore.

Come on now. Nothing has changed in the past few years. It’s not about who you beat it’s about who you lose to.

Ole Miss lost to a good Florida State team and a good Alabama team and beat Woffard, Georgia, and Memphis (oh and they looked very good beating those teams too)

FSU lost to a good Louisville team but it wasn’t close so they must suck and lost to a UNC team that we don’t think is very good despite being undefeated. They only have beaten Charleston Southern, South Florida, and Ole Miss but it wasn’t a blowout so we aren’t impressed with that win.

Ole Miss clearly has the better resume.

Last time I looked UNC got beat by a not so great UGa team to open the season, hence the perception that they aren't so great themselves. Hence their win over FSU takes the Noles down a few notches.

Ahh forgot about that one to open the season. My point still stands. Their resumes are basically equivalent: 2 losses to good teams, 2 cupcakes beat, 1 good team beat. At that point you would think the team who won head to head should clearly be ranked higher.

I told the guy that i thought he would probably be another Matthew Stafford or David Greene
They've had plenty of studs year in and year out, highly touted players at every position. They act like Smart is gonna bring in more talent than they've had but he's not. Will he do more with it is yet to be seen but Richt didn't do a bad job, he got fired for not being Saban basically. Smart did however get a potential all time great QB (thanks to Richt) to start his career off so he'll at least make it until one year A.E. (After Eason)
