They're our VanderbiltWe need to kick Virginia out of the conference.
Update after week 4:Upate After Week 3:
vs NON PWR 5 FBS: SEC 11-3, ACC 6-3
vs FCS: SEC 4-0, ACC 10-1
vs BIG10: SEC 0-1, ACC 2-1
vs PAC 12: SEC 2-0, ACC 0-1
vs BIG 12: SEC 1-1, ACC 0-1
HEAD to HEAD: ACC 3 wins, SEC 2 wins
So: against FBS power 5: SEC 5-5, ACC 5-5
Give the SEC credit for scheduling more non power 5 FBS games and fewer FCS than ACC.
Give ACC credit for a winning record vs SEC
And what about ND? They have some jimmies and Joes and yet their D is nonexistentUpdate after week 4:
vs NON PWR 5 FBS: SEC 14-3, ACC 11-3
vs FCS: SEC 5-0, ACC: 11-1
vs BIG10: SEC 0-1, ACC 3-1
vs PAC 12: SEC 2-0, ACC 0-1
vs BIG 12: SEC 1-1, ACC 0-1
HEAD to HEAD: ACC 3 wins, SEC 2 wins
So: all totaled against PWR 5 (includes ND): SEC 5-5, ACC 7-5
Give the SEC credit for scheduling more non PWR 5 FBS teams than ACC and fewer FCS games thus far. Give ACC credit for a winning record head to head AND scheduling two more games vs PWR 5 opponents and winning them. At this point the mighty SEC has no claim to anything other than being another average conference in CFB. If forced to choose, I would select the ACC resume.
Just as I was gleefully getting ready to pencil in another L for the SEC, Vandy wiggled off the hook against WKY. It was joyful times for me following the UGA-MISS score on my phone. You think we have problems? Imagine if it was 45-0 for us against a 1-2 team.
WHile I wouldn't argue against the findings of that article, we must recognize that Sagarin rankings don't mean much without more data. It is one of my favorite poll devices, but only after about 2/3 of the way through the schedule and on. I guess all polls are garbage before the first half is over anyway.Agreed. Sagarin ranks the SEC East as the weakest division in the Power 5. Take Alabama out, and even the mighty SEC West looks pedestrian.

OK, there is bias in these numbers below since they incorporate last year's results too. But not counting last night, JHowell has SEC #1 at Power Ranking of .669 and ACC #4 at .612. {Bottom of http://www.jhowell.net/cf/cf2016.htm .... it'll be interesting to see how the one game last night changes things. Shouldn't be much since both were highly ranked and the higher ranked home team won.}
But that is a decrease in one week of .009 for the SEC and an increase of .006 for ACC. Bottom line is that when you win tougher games OOC, the conference gets better, when you lose the conference goes down. Playing cupcakes hurts. So just win baby.
We are at #46.
Because of their infatuation with the SEC, the new polls probably won't be much differentBTW, to add fuel to my argument, the SEC, despite their average resume, came into the week with the highest ranked 0-loss team, the second highest ranked 1-loss team, and the highest ranked 2-loss team. Give me a break! Let's see where things fall tonight when the new polls come out.
Uga still ranked in both polls. SmhBecause of their infatuation with the SEC, the new polls probably won't be much different
You had to know that they would be. Ridiculous that they are.Uga still ranked in both polls. Smh
Were y'all not watching the same game that I watched? It was a textbook example of a "quality SEC loss", and (u)GA was robbed if they did not actually rise in the rankings, after that game...You had to know that they would be. Ridiculous that they are.

He is if you sort out the guys who coached like 20 games or less. There are a few early 1900s guys that would be ahead of him that did like 8 games but yea he had a 77.8% win rate which is ahead of Saban's 75.0% win rate at LSULSU burns the road up out of Baton Rouge.
Van Gorder booted out of ND.
I think I read Miles had the highest winning percentage of any LSU coach
