If you have a team who is losing their coach, is getting trashed by the local media on a daily basis, is playing in a bad bowl game against a boring team the day after Christmas in Detroit, and wondering which players will even have a position to play next year, its not shocking if they come out and play the way we did today.

Hmmm. I though we were supposed to beat the hell out of Minnesota as a tribute to CPJ. Guess not.

Merciful (or, however painfully), it is over. We can all find our own

Only if one had no self respect or dignity. This would be a residual problem tomorrow for all those who would think this way.

Wasn’t Tech ranked 8 in the country and the opponent Florida in the Orange Bowl?
Yea went to Orange bowl.

When gt got the invite they let us bring in oranges to throw on field at end of the game.
Most everyone had hulled out and vodka infused their oranges. Going to the games was a great pressure release.

I would have thought they would have played harder...

Not being up for a bowl game with all that has happened is not a sign of a lack of self respect or dignity. These are college kids who have played their hearts out only to be handed a complete crap sandwich to end the year.

Really, they just got beat. There were times they reached way down and won games they probably shouldn't have. I give Minnesota credit.

For some reason, this seems so familiar. Middling team in a good conference given a month to prepare......our team comes out and plays flat, looks unprepared, no surprises in our offense, defense is gassed by halftime , cannot pass when we are behind..........coach says they weren't prepared - IN A MONTH ??? Sad, really sad.
Game not only shows a lack of talent , but a lack of coaching. As far as I know, the coaches have all been on GT's payroll all this time. Talk about just " mailing it in "....

So in your opinion we were just significantly worse than a team that got blown out by Illinois and Nebraska? You don't think there was any lack of interest or motivation here?

Full circle. CPJ took over after an uninspired performance on the blue turf at the Hum Bowl 11 years ago. CPJ goes out with an uninspired performance at the Oil Change Bowl 11 years later.

Hopeful of better times ahead, but it going to take a while to get the Jimmies and Joes.

Good post. Was thinking this exact thing during the game. Then paul came in and made a quip about us getting butts whooped on blue turf in a small bowl.

Irony.

But its a lame duck staff situation and I wonder truly how prepped anyone was. Sad for the seniors. As for paul and his send off. Who gives a ****.
