The fact that they have so spectacularly misused the supposed top pick of the draft isn't something Cream can survive imho. He won't get fired after this season, but the stank will stay with him.

Fast forward to the draft green room. All the analysts will be tiptoeing around explaining why the kid's production has been so awful. Sooner or later, somebody'll say screw it and will put his coach in the cross hairs where he belongs.

Meanwhile ol 'awkward a** Cream'll be sitting there looking all socially confused.

It'll resonate with recruits he's tryna fool into thinking he had anything to do with DWhine Wade and Jimi Butler being good pro's.

Think his name even gets mentioned in the upcoming DWade documentary that ESPN is touting? Connell’s Odds = No - 500

He'll get a courtesy pat on the head, probably.

At least we made the tournament with Favors. These dudes can't even be competitive. We were their Super Bowl, obviously. Sad.

We just seem to have some damn mental block when it comes to playing them in any sport. No reason to lose to them constantly, especially in basketball! Baseball always chokes too. Football is more of a depth and talent gap but there’s no reason to lose to them in basketball. Ever!

Timing. Would love to play them today. Gotta figure out a way to start fast in non-conference next year. We always seem to slog through it til we find our legs halfway through conference play.

Just a "Wow" statement here from his AAU coach: "Jordan: “This is one thing for sure: He would not have had the opportunity to put up as many shots as he’s put up at UGA and do the things he’s done to be staying the No. 1 pick in the draft. You’ve got to take the good with the bad. He probably does think those things. Why wouldn’t he? But I think we’ve also got to be a little realistic here: Would he still be the No. 1 pick in the draft?”

Jordan was the AAU coach who got the new contract for his AAU program from Under Armour and helped(encouraged?) Robert Carter to transfer to MD from GT. (Robert played for Jordan's AAU program. Robert's parents didn't know about the transfer until after it happened).

It's also fun to read that article and have Crean talk about how much Edwards has learned and grown in his few months in Athens. He'll be saying that all the way through the draft and in future recruiting - about how he helped the #1 NBA draft pick.

Even more damning ...

Then: “Is it a hard situation — me, watching them lose? It’s hard. But you hope. People learn from situations. You hope that Anthony learns something; you hope Tom learns something. Maybe Tom can’t take the one-and-done kids. The kind of coach he is, he’s more a development guy. If you’ve only got a kid eight months, there’s nothing you can really teach him.”

@RamblinRed that's why I said draft night will be funny. Cream won't be able to tout how he "made" Edwards into the top pick when any analyst with guts will have to point out this was a wasted season for him and their team.

Any. Janice he drops a few spots. That is best case scenario for us.

Nah, best case for us is he goes #1. People look at the stats and ask, "Dayum, how'd the #1 pick do jack squat in college?", then dig into UGA basketball(sic). That, and other things, is basically what happened to Lorenzo Romar (Washington/Fultz) and Johnny Jones (LSU/Simmons).
