Given how national in scope the incoming assistants are, both in experience and in recruiting, you have to think MBob had a heavy influence there.

Gotta say, you have to be pretty happy with this group. I know Sharman White was a favorite on this board given his local connection and ties to a major HS basketball tournament (Jordan Brand), but the guys we're bringing in are proven on a national scale. Speaks to the big picture MBob and Pastner have for GT basketball: They want us to be a national player in college basketball, and the hirings are backing that up.They are thinking nationally, and not regionally with these hires.

Yes, White was probably his crown jewel, though to say he wasn't involved with LJ is slightly incorrect, IMO. Hardy was all over LJ when he played at Whitney Young in Chicago along with Paul White, Jahlil Okafor, etc. So I think we can say that in his short tenure at Georgetown, Hardy was an important component to recruiting 3 of the top 4 rated recruits that signed with the Hoyas during that span.

This is more of a loss than Sutton, IMO. Now we need another recruiter along with an Xs/Os guy. Doesn't seem to say much for Hardy's/Suttton's impressions of JT3's capabilities to help them move up that they would leave to work for Stallings and Pastner.

I wouldn't hesitate to say the Larrabie has the potential to be just as good a recruiter for GT in regards to the Atlanta area as Huff or White.

I would bet money that both Pastner & LaBarrie will be fixtures at local HS games this coming season, unlike the many many anecdotes of the prior staff being at HS games last season (yes, that's TIC).

The Reveno hire not only bodes well for our existing post players, but also for recruiting future post players. I firmly believe we have little chance at Wendell Carter, maybe a little better chance at Ikey, but you can go to both and say we've got a specialist in house to help you grow.

Good point. I remember saying in past years that bball talent in the state actually hadn't been as good as advertised so I don't mind this national focus. Now this '17 class is the exception so I hope we make hay there.

Most of the staffs we were tossing around were wish list type stuff. I never really thought Bruiser would be here, merely hoped.

I thought White was a lock given that he has interviewed with Posh before. That's still a head scratcher for me but DL is a GT guy and an Atlanta guy. If you're not going with White, DL is a good next option.

Not to be a grammar Nazi but I believe the accepted technical phrase is no longer speaking in "3rd person" voice, but speaking "Rickey Henderson."

If White interviewed before with CP and clearly did again for this job, plus openly wanted it, then I am fine with deferring to CP's decision not to hire him at this point. It would have to be a very informed one, and I suspect the decision was actually very close. Also, given the hires it does seem like MBob helped in the process, two heads are better than one when it comes to fixing the program.

I will enjoy watching the team develop and then compete and will judge the hires by their fruits later on.
