Why isn’t/wasn’t Key in the running for OC of BAMA?

Wow. The scores make the 0 - 11 look even worse for an OC.

Maybe/hopefully he could be our OL coach. They have 2 at Alabama. He shares duties.

They also lost ALOT of players, two of which were Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson. The had ALOT of injuries, and a player on the team past away. As CPJ says, it’s never as bad or as good as it seems.

No, it was just as bad as it seemed. It was so bad they cleared house and brought in a whole new coaching staff.

If people don't know, O'Leary was setting it up for Key to be the HC, and O'Leary would move up to AD. Key was the defacto HC that season. The season was so bad, and there was so much turmoil within the team, they wouldn't even consider O'Leary in the AD conversation anymore.

So a death couldn’t have caused the turmoil? Were you there and knew all the details of what was going on behind the sense? How much did OLeary have his hands in the pot still? Injuries, losing players to the NFL, all that stuff doesn’t contribute to it? Stuff that goes beyond Key? tbh we have no clue, unless you were behind the sense and saw everything going on. I’ve actually challenged people to go watch his games, and brake down what he doesn’t do good as an OC, yet no one has done it yet. And even if what you say about Key being the de facto HC is true, that should hold no weight on him being able to play calls. Maybe he was in over his head and trying to do to much at the de facto HC, that still should hold weight on if he has the ability to call plays or not.
