The NFL will respect him - best pocket passer in the college game this year. He reminds me of a young Tom Brady - accuracy is off the charts.

On a totally different subject and in reference to a lot of other posts,

I understand that we had a more difficult schedule this year, but if your record is 7-6, and last year was 7-6, you did not improve in the measurable that matters, WINS.
That’s why most of us were saying that with the schedule we could have a better team, but end up with a worse record. Well, we ended up with the same record. But I think we definitely have a better team than last year plus much improved recruiting. I’ll take that any day of the week.

Yes, I remember lots of people saying with our schedule 7 wins would be an improvement,
I look at it using only the regular season this year 7-5 last year 6-6 I see that as an improvement. And we didn't have a healthy quarterback most of this season. Which requires extra game planning and more time to game plan. Plus, like you said our recruiting has got a lot better this year.
Point blank Key was not my first choice but with the stuff he inherited from the past coach I see improvement in the last 2 1/2 years every year. And I'm all behind him now and hope here is here a long time.

I tend to look at the regular season record as the barometer, because that’s what matters. Bowl games are exhibitions for fun.

I like your approach. Not to mention he went 4-4 in his interim year, which to me was pretty impressive using the same exact players.

In one way I agree, yet in another I don’t. I suppose for a mature and complete program you have to find ways to win tougher games. That is the ultimate metric. However, for a young and growing program, you can’t just make wins your only metric. There are other step improvements that can and should be acknowledged and celebrated.,

Bowl games have gotten to be a joke with the portal.
I look at it like (I think Coach Key may), this gives us extra practice time for the coaches to work with the players that didn't get much playing time. I would think than the Head coach calls in his two coordinators (after the coordinators get with their assistant coaches) and sit down and talk about which players they feel like can contribute to the team next season.
