In no particular order, here's a few names we could consider:

Jeremiah Johnson, Louisiana Tech DC
John Kay, Rice DC
Jon Heacock, Iowa State DC
Michael Scherer, UNLV DC
Nick Benedetto, Northern Illinois DC
Joe Klanderman, Kansas State DC

We should be able to afford all of these, while Klanderman would cost us the most. He currently makes $825K so it would cost us nearly $1M to get him I would imagine.

The biggest thing we need to do right now is keep as many kids on the defensive side from transferring as possible. Doubly so for the recruits we just signed.

Santucci was being talked about for most of the season as being a candidate for this or that job. That he might leave had to be a topic of conversation in the GTAA offices. I betcha Key already had a list.
