I'm getting excited about Ireland trip. I converted my brother-in-law (rabid Alabama fan) and his wife to Georgia Tech fans and we rented an Irish castle to stay in the week before the game, costs the same as a 2 bedroom condo in Destin........

Anyone who hasn't made flight reservations and firm plans may want to consider Britain. I got a great deal on an October flight to London last night, probably Brexit related. With the pound so low, we are going to London for a few days, then around Britain and then maybe go for a few days to Ireland. (As I said before, I've kind of learned not to mix GT football with pleasure.) I doubt the currency advantage will transfer over to Ireland as the Euro hasn't been hit as much the last two days. I think the euro/USD will be much lower when other countries look to leave the EU, but that will probably be after the next country (ies) look to leave the EU.

I noticed you left the "Great" off "Great Britain." I guess they need to elect someone who can "Make it Great Again!" too.

Flying into London the week before the game, it makes for an enjoyable vacation without the outcome of the game hanging over my head. We'll spend a couple days in the south and then travel up to Scotland. One way flights from there to Dublin are going for $17 right now on Ryanair.

Wow. I think I'll pass on that one. But I like the clever turn of ideas ..... Ever since I took the position that I don't think we should be using the defense security regulations as a political weapon, I've stayed away from politics on this board :cautious:

Having British / Irish / Scandinavian + other mixture heritage, I have to admit a favorable bias and am looking forward to visiting there again. The great Brits are in much better trade shape now with the pound down 9% and I'd like to support them.

Well, that's the direction we are heading
My wife is from Venezuela and it makes me see red when folks make statements like this. The United States will never be anything like VZ is right now. Never. Can't happen. The separation of powers in our constitution prevents it. Do you seriously believe that the United States would devolve to a point where there is no electricity? No food in the grocery stores? No medicines in the hospitals? Venezuela's problems are linked to socialism, but are more related to corruption and a total disregard for the rule of law. Go read the Caracas Chronicles, Venezuela News and Views, Devils Excrement, Gustavo Coronel and other blogs and educate yourself. End of rant.

Thanks. If it is necessary to show safety standards are met; well that can't be done if data on concussions in football is considered.
“For the [three high school] games in Trinity College there are similar insurance issues as well as non-compliance with child protection. They are yet to confirm public liability insurance . . .They have not demonstrated that they can run a safe event,” Smith added."

I would still bet that the game happens over in Dublin, do you have any links @PBR549 ?
