I love it when people like you have no idea what they are talking about. Interception in OT? There was no OT in the VT game. You probably don't remember this, since you don't seem to remember much accurately, but TW scored what should have been game tying TDs in both games. Against VT he through a 42 yard pass to Melton and had another nice 13 yard run to get in the red zone. After we gave up a TD to VT, TW was at it again. 17 yard run on third and 17. 38 yard pass to Cone. Couple more 8/9 yard runs.

lol you're talking about 2010? Everyone else assumed you were talking about 2012 since 1) it's the one often brought up most often and 2) you said game tying/leading. Considering neither 2010 UGA nor 2010 VT would have been leading scores while 2012 VT would you're the one that caused confusion.

And 2010 VT was the same story as 2012. He played bad most of the game, had one good drive, a chance to extend the game/get points in OT, and threw an interception sealing the game. Sorry but having one good drive to tie the game, which you do realize means he would have to go out and do it again right?, and then choking when the game is on the line later doesn't make you clutch.

If you want to focus on clutch situations then do so. He threw interceptions with the game on the line in all 3 games. You want to focus on the rest of the game and try to argue it was on the other parts of the team as to why we were in that situation then fine. But against VT in 2010 he came in with a 14-7 lead, defense forced two punts to start the second half, and it wasn't until we were down 7 that we had our only, out of 5, drives for a score. We were in that situation because we couldn't do anything in the second half offensively.

Against VT 2012. 17 total points and 7 came off a short field set up by STs. We were only in that situation because our offense was bad that game.

Against UGA in 2010. We go down 28-21 then a fumble is returned for a TD and they go up by 14. The defense then gets a 3 and out, -8 yard drive, to give us a chance to tie it. Then after we missed the XP, the defense gets a fumble giving the ball back to our offense needing only a FG to win. Instead we turn it over on downs getting -6 yards on the drive and forcing our D to give up a TD so that we could have a chance. It's on the offense that they needed a TD instead of a FG because they had the chance with only needing a FG and couldn't cut it. Then on the drive in crunch time we get to teh UGA side with ~40 seconds left and it ends the way games so often did. In a Tevin INT.

Maybe then you should try to understand the conversation before you start your long diatribes. I originally pointed to all four games as examples of clutch play. You chose to ignore the 2010 game, and I called you out for it.

The problem undermining all of your posts is that you expect TW to score a touchdown on every single drive and to never throw an interception when trying to march his team downfield without much time on the clock. Nobody is saying he's super human. Even if he was - show me another QB in college who has never failed to lead their team in a comeback and never thrown an interception at the end of the game.

Your recap of the 2010 uga game is way off too. Once they went up 14 (21-35), TW commands a 12 play, 71 yard drive to cut the lead to 7. That includes TW picking up a tough 1st down on 3rd and 2 and picking up 29 yards on a run from midfield. Guess who scored the TD? Kinda telling you gloss over that drive. You also gloss over the next drive which, even though Allen was the main guy TW led the drive and had some clutch plays on the ground.

You must not remember the game very well after that. Our OL didn't block two plays in a row. How is Tevin supposed to do anything when Tyson (#94) and Houston (#42) are on him before the play even starts? Look at the second down play that drive. They have three unblocked guys upfront, not counting Houston who ends up making the tackle from the back side of the play once Washington tries to cut the other way (no where to do). #93 and Houston aren't blocked the entire possession. Doesn't prove much other than we didn't block on that drive.

Also kinda hard to fault TW for throwing a pick. He had 1:17 to go 80 yards for a TD. We got about halfway there with 42 seconds left. Throwing a pick when trying to force the ball downfield to pick up 50 yards with only a few plays left happens all the time.

The main point is people like you entirely discount what TW did. You give him no credence, when he at least deserves some.

All in all, I think Tevin was a good qb for GT. Not great, but certainly not bad and better than average.

Exactly this. He completed over 50% of his passes. TW scored 34 TDs in his two full years as a starter. He nearly had 1000 yards rushing in 2011 (only year he played full time). And he damn near single handedly won us the Clemson game in 2011 (when they were no. 5 in the country and TW set a QB rushing record with 176 yards on 27 carries). Oh yeah, he's also got the ACC record for rushing TDs by a QB (one Thomas should break this year).

More importantly, he completed his bachelor's degree in summer of 2012 because he promised he would graduate in four years. He could have left himself one undergrad class to take during the 2012 football season, but didn't do it.

Nobody is saying TW was all conference or all american. He did a fine job and represented the I about as well as you could ask anyone to. He didn't complain when he lost snaps to Vad. For lack of a better term, he was a damn good jacket. Kills me that there are still tevin haters. lv20gt was probably a Vad supporter - how did that work out?
