Last night a few guys like Qua Searcy and Tyler Merriweather asked the Georgia Tech Band to play a popular song Mo Bamba at the White Out Saturday night. This morning the Band responded that they were learning the song. Now that's customer service for the Seniors!

Very interested to see how they convert that particular song. Would be cool if they play up the drum line, as there isn't much going on in the song.

This is definitely not suitable for work. From the start. So please be aware:



I actually think the band can do it right. Trumpets/Flutes take the glockenspiel sounds and let the Tubas/Trombones take the base lines and lyrics. Accentuate the drumlines and cymbals. Anybody else just dance.

I sure hope you get to play it, since it appears that piped in music (mostly garbage IMO) takes precedence over the band lately.

I always thought "Put ON" was a weird choice, but our band makes it very imposing. I didn't this dong had much going on, but a resounding brass section could make this pop.

I agree. It sounds like something the Canes would like, rather than the Jackets. And all those obscenities....WOW. I don't imagine they will be putting the words on the jumbotron...LOL. To each his own though, and, like you said, if it pumps up the players, then so be it.
