I don’t think we want any part of Usce or Auburn. They would be fun to watch but I’m not sure we will move the ball against either of those teams with us not being able to complete forward passes.
I do neither one is that great on defense if you want to worry than I would worry about anyone we play with our defense trying to stop their offense.

ACC Bowls 2018
CFP/NY6
Cotton Bowl No. 2 Clemson vs No. 3 Notre Dame

Camping World Bowl Cuse vs West Virginia

Tier 1
Pinstripe Bowl Miami vs Purdue
Music City Bowl N.C. State vs Missouri
Belk Bowl Georgia Tech vs South Carolina
Sun Bowl Pitt vs Cal

Tier 2
Military Bowl Virginia Tech vs Cincinnati
Independence Bowl Virginia vs La. Tech
Quick Lane Bowl Wake Forest vs Minnesota
Armed Forces Bowl Duke vs Houston (sounds like Duke would choose First Responder instead on Dec Gaperilla Bowl)
This would be a great draw. USCE would out number is 3 to 1 but would a good game a nonetheless.
A lot of people think Clemson is the states preferred team, not necessarily the case. . USCE had a huge fan base, especially up the I-77 corridor

South Carolina lost like 10 of their 11 starters on defense this season. we could probably move it on them. Would be a shootout. Not sure we could stop Deebo Samuel from getting like 5 TDs though

Per Rich Thompson
Sun Bowl executive director Bernie Olivas was seated in the second row of the Alumni Stadium pressbox during the Eagles’ 42-21 loss to Syracuse on Saturday. BC’s chance of competing in the Sun Bowl depends on whether Syracuse or third-place N.C. State is selected to play the Camping World Bowl. If N.C. State goes to Orlando, Syracuse will play in the Sun Bowl, and BC likely will land in the Military Bowl.

If Syracuse goes to Orlando, N.C. State should end up in the Belk Bowl. If Pittsburgh loses to Clemson, the Panthers would be a natural for the Pinstripe Bowl against Michigan State on Dec. 27.

Miami salvaged its season with a 24-0 win against Pitt on Saturday and should end up in the Music City/Gator Bowl.

Virginia, Duke and Georgia Tech are seven-win teams in the Music City Bowl,Pinstripe,Military picture or the Independence Bowl.

Virginia Tech could end up in the Quick Lane Bowl if the Hokies beat Marshall. Wake would go to Detroit if Virginia Tech loses.

Scenerio 1

Camping World
Syracuse 9-3

Tier 1 (all equal selection)
a. Pinstripe - Pitt 7-6 (Coastal Champs)

Duke 7-5, Wake or VT 6-6
9. Birmingham Bowl (conditional)
Duke 7-5, Wake or VT 6-6

The ACC did away with the “Boston College rule,” which prevented a 6-6 team from jumping a team with an 8-4 record or better in the bowl process, at least for everyone but Notre Dame.

But there’s still a provision which would keep the 6-6 teams from getting into the first tier. If four teams finish 8-4 or better, which is likely most years, then a 6-win team can’t be selected for a first-tier game ahead of those 8-win teams. (Not sure about 7 win teams) So VT getting to 6 wins could push some 7 win teams to Quick Lane....

It appears that the Georgia Tech Flexbone is not popular within the College Football Bowl Selection folks..

Right now, here’s our guess as to where the ACC teams will do their post season bowling.

  1. Orange Bowl-Clemson
  2. Camping World–Syracuse
  3. Pinstripe-Pittsburgh
  4. Sun–Boston College
  5. Belk–NC State
  6. Music City–Miami
  7. Military–Georgia Tech or Virginia Tech (if it qualifies)
  8. Independence–Duke or Georgia Tech
  9. Quick Lane–Virginia
  10. Dallas or Gasparilla–Wake Forest or Virginia
  11. Birmingham–Wake Forest or Virginia Tech
Boston College’s destination is linked to what the Camping World Bowl in Orlando does. If NC State winds up in Orlando, then Syracuse would go to the Sun Bowl and BC would most likely end up in the Military. But if the Camping World Bowl chooses Syracuse, NC State would not go to the Sun Bowl since they played there last season and bowls and schools do not like repeat trips to non-New Year’s Day bowls in successive seasons. That would leave BC as the Sun Bowl’s best option, and NC State could wind up in a more local friendly bowl such as the Belk Bowl in Charlotte.

I’ll be glad to pledge to buy tickets to the Belk Bowl to help TStan sell us. We need to support the City that hosts the ACC championship game.
No way in heck GT goes to a Tier 1 Bowl after not even showing up in Athens. Not going to happen. You can take that to the bank. They will be among the least desirable selections at 7 wins because any chance of the fans showing up in numbers died somewhere around the 2nd Qtr in Athens. It will be Annapolis if we are lucky and otherwise Shreveport or maybe even Detroit. Annapolis might get 5k fans. The other two will get less than 2k.

I saw one prediction that had Virginia Tech playing Tulane in the Frisco Bowl:cigar:

Belk vs USC-E would be nice. But the Belk Bowl has shown a downright aversion to GT. They've picked around GT at least 3-4 times in the past. The Belk Bowl wants somebody in NC. If they can't get that they want Clemson or VT.

My new best guess: (Based on Sun Bowl Comments)

1. CFP: Clemson
2. Camping World: Syracuse
3. Tier 1
--- Pinstripe: Pitt
--- Belk: NC State
--- Music City/Gator: Miami
--- Sun: Boston College
4. Military: Georgia Tech or VT
5. Independence: Georgia Tech or VT
6. Quick Lane: Virginia
7. Gasparilla: Duke
8. Birmingham Bowl: Wake Forest

How can you said that when Duke got blasted at home by Wake worse than we did and BC/UVA both are on 3 game losing streaks.

Based on Sun Bowl comments on BC and Gator/Music city Bowl comments on Miami.... That leaves one 9-3 team and Pitt to round out the four tier 1 bowls.... We had a shot at a tier 1 bowl but the game was over by second qtr last Saturday.. Miami upset Pitt so it looks like they get the tier 1 and we will get either Military or Indy depending on VT outcome this year... It appearance military would take a 6-6 VT over a 7-5 GT because VT fans travel better than GT.

At this point today (Monday), it looks like either the Military or the Independence for Georgia Tech.

We will know which one when the bowl announcements are made on Sunday.
