The sequential travels as shown in public media of Doryan Onwuchekwa (DO) paints a story to me that is interesting as a case study of the state of college basketball today. He was offered scholarships by several big schools before his senior year in high school, including TCU (coached by Jamie Dixon), Xavier (coached by Sean Miller, head coach to assistant Damon at Arizona), Colorado (coached by Tad Boyle), and Georgia Tech (coach by Damon Soudamire, recruited by assistant Terry Parker , Jr.). Tech made an offer to DO as the result of a relationship with assistant Terry Parker in Sep 2223. DO committed and signed a letter of intent to Colorado in Nov 2023. Coach Parker left Tech in Dec 2023 for personal reasons. DO withdrew the commitment from Colorado in Feb 2024. DO visited Tech several days before he signed a letter of intent with Tech around March 20, 2024. DO played his last game at Tech on Dec 15 2024 and did not return to the team due to announced personal reasons, although he is still enrolled in school spring semester. DO recently signed on with sports agent Greg Murphy of Miami-based Endurance Sports Management, LLC.

Interesting. I draw no conclusions on why DO left the team, or the decision influencers. But, I am amazed that the life of the young 18-year-old DO is so complicated, after he grew up just wanting to play basketball and go to college. I do not know how today's athletes can focus just on basketball and studies and have a fun college life. The grown-ups sure have made the kid's lives much more complicated.
