It’s crazy to me that Georgia is still as open as it is without mask requirements
I’m delighted with Georgia’s policy. I manufactured the PPE and the level of misunderstanding is just out of control.
To control a virus, you have to control the viral load and the time. In low viral threshold environments, masks aren’t necessary unless you are in them for a long period of time. So, shopping at Publix is safe for consumers but, workers should wear masks.
You can use ventilation to control viral load, so turn the air faster or ... increase the dilution effect (open windows, sit on the patio, etc).
Masks are required for face-to-face contact over extended periods of time. If you’re in an environment with low viral load or one that doesn’t require a lot of face to face contact, masks aren’t necessary. I don’t wear one and I know the risks. I avoid them but ... use your head! Inside or Outside? Many people or few? More than 15 min or less?
I see people walking their dog alone wearing a mask. Totally unnecessary.
