When the coach says this transition is one of the most monumental transitions in the history of the college football....he admitted he is in over his head. If he told TStan that in his interview TStan should have run away from him as fast as his feet could take him.

Transitions aren’t easy. But this isn’t standing a football program up from scratch. It’s monumental because he wasn’t prepared to succeed.

When CPJ left Kirk Herbstriet said that who ever got the job would have their hands full and it would almost be like starting from scratch. I think he knows a little about college football and I heard other people , coaches say the same thing. GT has maybe a dozen players that are division one starters.

Hey I actually like Herbstriet. But how much experience does he have with triple option schemes or transitioning to them or away from them? And I can guarantee you he wouldn’t excuse Saturday away on the transition alone.

We have enough talent to compete in the coastal and handily beat the Citadel. I know throwing the players under the bus is the 2nd favorite scapegoat around here though and actually spins off the favorite scapegoat.

So far it looks like we picked the wrong man for the job. 3 years to figure it out.

Once CGC gets more players to fit what he wants to do he may have to get a better O C . If this is needed and he wants to keep his job.

Whether he has those players or not, there is no excuse for not settling on ONE starting QB and letting him run the show until (if) he falls flat on his face. This constant rotating of QBs, especially within a given series, is just not going to get it done. I am firmly convinced that Tobias Oliver would have won that game Saturday if he had been left in there the entire game.

This. One Hundred percent accurate. Hopefully Collins and Pnut are not so set in whatever it is they are trying to do offensively that they lose sight of the ultimate goal: win football games. There are a few games left that I think TO gives a shot to win (Pitt, UNC, Temple, and VT) if we can keep the chains moving consistently. I do not have much hope for the rest of the games on our schedule.

I get that whole “2 is none” stuff...but how does it apply to last Saturday? We had a clear better QB that day at sustaining drives and moving the sticks. Not sticking with Oliver until if/when he was ineffective was a mistake made over and over. He was continually pulled out after being effective. To the point that you knew exactly what type of play (and a resulting sack) was going to occur when Johnson came in. It wasn’t one mistake the coaches made in doing that, it was an entire game’s worth.

I think Tobias has proved himself on the field. Graham has not actually had much of a chance and is (or was) injured. Lucas cannot move the team down the field. He may do something fantastic on one play, but then he does nothing on the next two. Tobias MUST start and be left in against Temple.
