CJ Leggett injured?

Is he really at 200lb or is that roster weight? They get a little cute with those heights and weights sometimes. I remember them listing Will Bynum at like 6'0" when he was at Tech. Then I met him after the tournament run and stood eye-to-eye with him. That dude was 5'8".

So is Marshall really at 200lb or is it more like 190?
Hmm. Suggest anything about Justin Thomas?

Hopefully we land Skov...Skov + Allen could carry us then we try to redshirt both MLD and MM...there are tons of scenarios...Will be fun Fall camp.

Skov will be great for depth and short yardage situations, but personally I hope MLD comes in and is just too good to keep off the field.

Sure counting a lot on a back whose yardage production is non-existent, and a freshman. Somewhere in this menagerie of Abacks, Bbacks and QBs and athletes Johnson has to find his man, assuming the injuries are as serious as they appear. I am determined to be optimistic, and probably the end of spring practice might help that. Nobody else getting hurt, and a breather, maybe, from speculation that drives us crazy.

If both CJ and Quaide are lost for the season, would any of the other incoming freshman running backs get a look at B-back? Maybe Benson?

He will be in the mix but he isn't the biggest guy...around 200 pounds.

Where as MLD is in the 220 range and should be 230 when he gets here...Just think he is likely more ready.

MLD is already in the 220 range? If so, that is crazy for a high school running back. He will be Coming to tech as a grown man.

BBack is not an easy position to learn. I remember watching Snoddy, I think it was a scrimmage but could have been a junk regular season game a couple years ago, and he got 3 dives, and two of them resulted in snoddy running out of bounds. PJ wasn't very happy. But in MMs highlights, he bounced a lot of those runs outside very early, which will be a hard habit to break.

FWIW, I know we are short on BB, but I like MLD more at OLB.

I may be wrong, but I don't think we were considering MLD at OLB even for a second.

This. I think 8-4/9-3 we be the end result of this years schedule. I hate to say it but I think we drop a close one at ND. To early and to many new faces getting live action. I also think we lose @ Clemson,Miami and either F$U or UGag. Yes Ugag. Until we find a way to beat them 2 years in a row I'm not counting that as an automatic W just yet.
I don't disagree with this analysis and CobbTech too much. I will be happy with 8-4/9-3 and expect it. The one thing I do not here too much talk about, is that we are returning a lot of guys on defense that played significant minutes last year. That experience, another year in Roof's system, the growth in all of those returnee's (weight, speed, technique, etc. like we are hearing about Kallon maybe?) plus JHD and Whitehead and maybe a freshman or two that really show up (Vic A, AJ Grey, or Glanton for example ??), you could have a much higher performing defense comparable to last years. I am hopeful about the defense. Just realized this is a bit off topic. sorry.

Snake bit at Bback. Custis would have been the guy. CJ would have been the guy. Quaide, had a shot. Maybe MA finds a home like Synjyn did. Maybe a true frosh comes in and shows out, not holding my breathe on that.

I feel a lot better after watching Marcus Allen. Just think, he's only a week into practice.

All of this " we can go undefeated " talk needs sshhhhhh. It's going to be a tough season for a few reasons. 1. We lost a ton of experience on the offense and 2. Our schedule is brutal.

I hate being the negative tech fan but it's just reality. I hope someone can emerge and carry the rock but CPJ has said time after time that if the Bback position is producing , the offense isn't that good.

Conference/Division titles, major bowl games, and top-15 rankings are earned with excellence. Going undefeated involves a little luck, whether you're good or great.

I don't think you can predict that it will be a tough season. Defense is half the battle. For the first time since 2008, the GT defense will not be athletically over-matched vs. every ranked opponent. We've seen flexbone teams compete and win with below-par talent on 'D, now let's see what they can do with a stronger unit.

On offense, the Jackets are excellent 2-deep at the most important position. Strong OL. Above-average kicker who will get better. "Producing at B-Back" doesn't mean it can't be a committee of role players. An indomitable runner is a luxury -- look at how Navy produces yards up the middle year after year. It's not because they have 3 All-Americans at B-back who overwhelm everybody. Similar situation at A-back because A-backs are not asked to do what traditional RB's are. They don't have to manufacture yards on their own.

Marcus Allen had a terrific spring game (now we just need John Riggins!) so that eases some concern at B too. The 3rd-string offense is clearly a disaster, though, so yes if Tech continues to suffer catastrophic injuries at the rate they have been it could be an uphill battle. Hopefully we have seen the last of the carnage for a while.

Finally the 2015 schedule includes a couple hype-machine teams that aren't necessarily harder to beat than other contenders but for whom you get more credit, like Notre Dame, and a few less teams who are always tough to beat but nobody gives you any credit for, like Wofford and GaSo.

That was my biggest takeaway: if this was a true look at Marcus Allen then he's a strong candidate.

Clemson on the road is going to be rough, UGA at home will tough, Miami on the road will be tough, ND on the road will be tough, FSU doesn't rebuild they reload. Some of you guys need to open your eyes and face reality. I'm not saying this season is going to be a disaster. We will play some very good games with the big boys I'm sure, but I don't see us winning 11+ games again. 7-9 wins this season will be a okay season for me. I'm predicting that because of my 2 main reason from my original
Post.

I see what you are saying and I can agree with you, but what do all these great teams have in common that are in the top 10 every year? They just reload as you said about fsu, the last half of our schedule was one of the hardest and we play about the same amount of those hard games this year just spread out a little more and some are away, so like I have said before there are a lot of questions on our team but at least give the kids the benefit and see if the reload and have a great season again, have a little faith in our coaching staff that they are going to get the d better and get the o up to par, yes we have questions but untill those are answered no one can really know if we will have another season like last year or just a decent season
