Bowl game Uni.... some will need a suicide watch

IMHO, this argument makes no sense.
1) Navy blue is a GT color (yeah, yeah, I know-there’s the argument it’s a secondary color), but pink is not.
2) No one asked the players to vote yes or no on pink. The players did vote for the uniforms that are being worn.
3) If pink was offered as an option, I’m 99% sure the players would have voted NO, not YES like the did for the navy (which is, again, a GT color).
4) During the days of the black watch, did anyone argue, “But what if the team wanted to be known as the pink watch?!?! Makes no sense.” ?
Because back then black was the secondary color, at least unofficially. I have no idea who decided to change it to blue, nor why they did it, but if they had left it as black, this wouldn't be happening.

We have worn navy 3 times this year in 13 games. That is not all the time. It isn't even a quarter of the time.
This is going to be our 4th game wearing navy. Makes no sense to wear an alternate that much

I think once it is all said and done, CGC might actually have us strut out some “wacky” stuff beyond this color thing.

I think we might see some Helmets with ATL city skyline, or RW tire treads, or Stinger helmets, Buzz logos or things like that. Who knows?

White. - Gold - Blue may end up being totally out of the conversation.

I think if we ever did go Triple Gold, or W/G/G, that CGC would lead the parade.

If we can get top 10 crootin - Heck Yeah.

Triple gold would probably be ugly, but I'd rather try that then this crap we're wearing Wednesday

Black Watch had nothing to do with a TEAM uni. It was basically a handful of guys, all D players, that had a helmet stripe and a different color GT logo on the helmet. Only had an impact, on a limited basis, for one season.

Was actually the antithesis of a TEAM uni.
I was just pointing out the folly of using the argument of "what if the players want pink" when they are arguing against going against tradition, but the Black Watch went against tradition.

However, the black being worn by the Black Watch was incorporated because of black being used for a uniform color. Tech wore black jerseys with gold pants under head coach Bill Curry from 1980 to 1986. I don't think anyone really had as much of an issue with using black, myself included, even though it is a u(sic)ga primary color like some of people today have with using blue (which is a GT color). Blue jerseys were used periodically between 1987 and 1994 for home uniforms (sometimes with white pants and sometimes with gold pants). We also wore blue in the '40's, occasionally in the '50's, and as recently as 2012 (and maybe since then). So, it's not like we are "going against tradition" for the first time ever.

If the players like the uniforms, great! I don't care what the uniform is. I'm going to pull for them even if they show up in plaid speedo's, and if they win, I would possibly go out and buy one for myself (and trust me, that's something you don't want to see).

Sorry, Supersize, although I agree with most of your posts, this is one that we will have to agree to disagree. It sounds like you are saying you are okay with using black (and it was used in jerseys as a primary color) although it isn't an official color and would be happy if we had stayed with black, but you don't like blue, which is an official color.

Let's just agree with:

My problem is that black SHOULD have been named the official tertiary (that was the term formerly used) color instead of blue. Blue was not made "official" until the late 80s, at which time black was apparently thrown out completely. Bad choice IMO.

As far as I am concerned, there are 3 shades of blue :
Sky blue as in skies, eye blue as in eyes, and neither of these belong on a unit. The 3rd is dark Navy Blue, which is almost black, and I don't mind it on unis. The Braves have it right.

Okay, enough.

The new gold is crap.

If you can't make a single football jersey with your primary non-white color and can't see the numerals in that color on a white jersey, you failed.

When you do that and pass over an 11 win, 70-14 bowl-winning, head coach, you better hope your hire is a grand slam.

No hope, he is a grand slam.

And blue, white, or gold would not have saved us from the disaster of bringing in another t.o. coach. Attendance figures do not lie. We had an 11 game winning coach who retired. And he won some games, i am fairly confident, by 56 points. So what? One season & one game against lousy comp does not justify anything. Judging a hire on one game is absurd.

But Adidas screwed up the Tech Gold, or was it TStan, or both? That is the issue well raised.

But we will have White, Blue and somewhat Gold unis. That truly IWII.

My point was the gold.

Your conclusion about the hire waits to be proven. I hope you're right.

"You guys wanna wear alternate color pants and jersey? OK with me." (Said Nick Saban never.)

I'm not really a fan of either blue jerseys or blue pants, but what I really want is to just win the game.

Buzz did not come to GT until the early 80's. By some posters' logic, we should get rid of him since it's not tradition. The Ford Model A didn't appear until the 1960's. Should we get rid of that too? People need to chill out. BTW, it doesn't matter what the "official" or "secondary" colors are listed as, clearly Blue will be featured prominently going forward. Clemson lists Purple as a primary color, but in reality (based on how it is used) it is their secondary or maybe tertiary color. Quit acting like the old man yelling at kids to get off the lawn.
