Bold, but reasonable predictions

Ha! I'll have what you're drinking. You could take a Brinks truck over to Athens and get all of the bets you want. If you won though you would never have to work again!

We have only trounced them one time that I recall since ‘90. (2008 ended comfortably but wasn’t a thrashing) We are overdue a supreme *** kicking of the sorry mutts. 2018 baby.

With a leaky defense, a new qb, our best bb disqualified before the first game, Lynch hobbled early, etc, we were two plays from being 6-0 heading into Clemson (and I still think we probably take UCF early - so did they). I think a team that starts 6-0 doesn't lose both UVA and Duke leaving us 8-3. I don't think even a new defense can play worse than we did the last half of the season (or the last half of the UT game for that matter).

Bold prediction, we come out of the Clemson game with momentum. Either a last second win or a toe-to-toe slugging match we lose in the 4th. VT on the road decides the Coastal, and we are 3-1 against them in the last 4 years (and a brain fart penalty in an awful year away from 4-0). We beat uga when we have late season momentum. The Miami outcome probably decides the uga game. Beat Miami and UVA at home, then uga starts talking about the off season recruiting ratings.

The bad thing is that this year is just like most. Stay healthy, win the turnover battle, catch a couple of teams when they are struggling, and it's not unreasonable we win 10. Get some bad breaks early, everybody starts thinking about last year, we win 6 and get pummeled in athens. There will be a moment before VT (like in the 2014 game against GSU or last year against Miami) when the entire season hangs in the balance on one play, one stop, or one drive. Being an experienced team, we should make that play. My heart says we win 10, my gut says we win 9 in the regular season. Ask me in November about the post season.

I think the early games on the schedule are going to be key in order to gain confidence and momentum.
For the S.Florida and Pitt games, not only wins but how we win ... after last seasons mess building confidence early is important to get us rolling.
We need to get the Miami and Duke monkey's off our back, if we win those games I could see 10-2 (you did say BOLD predictions) !!

I completely agree that he won't unseat Fromm this year, but I think you're underestimating the kid. I also think you're being a little ambitious with the 5 losses. 5 POSSIBLE losses, sure. But 9-3 is probably the floor for that team. You don't have the #1, #3, and #6 recruiting classes the past three years and suddenly lose your *** after a natty run.

That's not unusual for UGA recruiting, and they have had years without 9 wins, although the SEC east is a pretty weak division if recent history holds.

I think how Fromm matures and handles more of the workload will determine their season. Also replacing a lot of the leadership on D will be a factor.

I'm thinking our season will depend a lot on the health of the OL. I'm feeling like our simpler D will allow for more depth and for earlier contributions from freshman.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Quon in his second year. That's typically when our past starters start feeling confident on the pitch.

The only game I'm not feeling great about is the Clemson game. Probably will be similar to the last 2 years where Clemson gets a 2 TD lead and then stretch the game out. Will be interesting to see whether our new D can create some short fields for the O.

New bold prediction: Jalen Camp gets 800 yards and 9 TDs on 30 catches. 2nd team All-ACC.

If both teams are 3-0 there's a real shot at Gameday. Only other big games I see are Florida at Tennessee and Texas AM at Alabama

Florida @ tenn will be it unless both teams are struggling. Texas AM at alabama has that jimbo fisher vs Nick Saban hype. But Florida @ ten wher emullen has florida at 3-0 and pruitt has tenn at 3-0 would be to much for ESPN to pass up. They'd have Gameday with payton manning and tim tebow as the guest pickers.

I think Tennessee and Florida have a chance to be 3-0 going into their game in Knoxville. They play West Virginia,ETSU and UTEP in the first three games. I don't buy West Virginia being a power in 2018,i think they go 7-5 again. Florida's first three games are Charleston Southern,Kentucky and Colorado State.

Texas AM will lose against Clemson so I think it would be down to us vs Florida and Tennessee. Let's hope Tennessee loses to WVU.
