Joe Ross got called up from AAA and will start for the Gnats tomorrow. Big game for both teams. They can either knock two games off our lead during the series or we can hold serve and knock 4 days off the schedule with a split. Disappointing outcome tonight. If only Markakis’ liner would’ve gotten over the shortstop and found outfield grass.....

Scouts watching all of the Toronto games right now. Giles, Stroman being packaged.
Price might be too high for Atlanta. Although, we certainly have the prospects.

Here’s a guy that would be a rental, and would have to be a cheap rental since Atlanta has enough OF’ers(straight up for Ender?):

Cubs make more sense.
No outfielders if the Braves aren't going to get a starting pitcher, reliever or closer i would rather they do absolutely nothing:rolleyes:

Nationals starters have gone 27 straight starts without recording a loss. Team is 20-7 during that time.
That proves my point about the best 4 in the NL. Great statistic, to show how weak some of these Bullpens are. Doolittle has 21 saves and I’d take him over any Brave non-starter. He got behind every batter he faced last night. Granted it was only three. Incredible stuff! But other than him, who can you count on, Fred?

I hope Scherzer pitches next weekend. We need to face the best. It makes the game better. Like Jake says, we need to see Atlanta do something against the Kershaw, Strasberg, etc. types.

This has all the makings of a slugfest tonight if it’s Ross vs. Gausman and those ‘pens!
Watch it be a 1-0 game in 12 innings, Lol.

I hope he starts after the Braves-Nationals series in Washington;) It would be nice if the Dodgers swept the Nationals in the series preceding the Braves series:cool:

The starter streak of 27 games that Fred mentioned, is the longest since the 1916 NY Giants!

At the time of this writing, FanDuel Sportsbook does not have a posted line on tonight’s ESPN game. However, DraftKings Sportsbook has the Braves favored at -136 with a hefty 11-run implied total.
Strangley enough that Giants team didn't go to the World Series in 1916. The Boston Red Sox won the 1916 World Series 4-1 over the Brooklyn Robins and Babe Ruth was the winning pitcher in game 2 for the Red Sox.

Nobody. However... nearly all of them have moments of brilliance. Martinez has a tough problem because he really doesn't know what he'll get each time he calls a guy in.

Joe Ross has some experience. But who knows what'll happen today. More than likely it will be a high scoring game.

What about Sean Newcomb as our Closer, unless we acquire a real one?
He pitched the best two innings of any Brave this week, thus far!
Yes...I realize Luke filled in to start the season after injuries and just bad pitching from other guys, but he’s not been good enough to just be given the job at this point. The other night was the first blown save he’s had in a good while, but every outing feels like an adventure and he’s given up runs several times, even when recording a save.

If we want to be serious contenders, we HAVE to have a true closer.
