  • Report: Braves, Red Sox scouting Marcus Stroman
Sportsnaut "As the MLB trade deadline draws closer, contenders are busy sending scouts across the country to watch some of the top available targets. When Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman took the mound on Friday, representatives from multiple teams were on hand to watch him..." July 20
I would much rather have the Braves trade for Mike Minor and it would be nice if he would be able to play for the Braves in 2020 and 2021:cigar:

How many wins do y'all think Mike Soroka will get before the Braves shut him down to save his arm? I think he will get 18 wins before they shut him down before the Playoffs.
I think when and if they get a big enough lead, he and Fried take a few weeks off, then tune up in late September with a start or two where they go five innings. My predictions are bad, because I had us losing last night to Corbin and winning tonight with Soroka(although it should be low scoring with Anibal Sanchez going). Your 18 is about where he should be. Possibly 16 for Max?

Mike, that look-a-like Luke Jackson skit was priceless! I give you “accurate story of our Braves season” for that in this thread. FNS makes coffee nervous, and spikes my blood pressure. He is great for free baseball, as typically we go extras in about 7 of those 9 blown saves. If my memory is correct?

Yeah in most of the games like last night it would have probably went 11-13 innings:) I think Max Fried will get 16-17 wins:cigar:

Posters on the Washington Nationals Fan Forum message board seem to think that Max Scherzer wont be able to pitch again until Mid-August:wideyed:
This went like it too often does with Nationals. I local radio guy says it this way. I'm paraphrasing. "When it comes to injury news, the Nationals will say a guy has a hangnail & 2 weeks later, it's reconstructive surgery on both hands."

There is a pattern there.

Braves deserved to win last night... albeit in less dramatic fashion. Martinez is getting some heat for how he managed the bullpen in 9th. Rightfully so. I think. He didn't have great options, so outcome would have probably been same, but Rodney has not been called on to go more than 1 inning all year. And it showed.

Fred, you are a class act! Glad to hear your comments today. I’d believe you over any of those other fan forums. You shoot straight with us, hold nothing back and break down opinion from fact. Baseball might be the most difficult to predict? I didn’t make any this year, although I would have had the Phillies, Nats, Braves, Mets, Fish in that order. Goes to show spending the money doesn’t win it, plus they have had several injuries in Brotherly Love-ville. I think Sanchez is the best #4 man in baseball. Guys on here, will tell you how much we all wanted him back in Atlanta. We like Zuki too!

Good luck the next two games and all week. I believe you get at least one of the next two. Go get those L.A. showboats, show them some Eastern clobbering. I hope we meet in the NLCS!!

Posted it yesterday. Thanks for making sure we see it though.

I’ve got a rumor to start. What do you guys think of surrendering Folty for a rental like Bumgarner or Will Smith? Before you laugh me off the page, Mike was our #1 coming into this Spring. The Giants have the innings to give, maybe 12-14 more starts. The upside for them is a ready ace for next season, instead of a suspect or two-who might not pan out and takes a few years to find out. It hurts our depth, however we don’t trade away a precious outfielder or another Adam Wainwright/Mike Minor type. It’s called going for it. What da ya think?
