This is going to happen all over the place, with tons of underclassmen. The way the system is set up now, there's absolutely no reason not to test the waters if you're a high-level underclassmen. You're going to see test the waters 2-3 times in their college career before they actually stay eligible for the draft.

I got a kick out of Calipari saying he was going to send everyone on his team - including the walkons :) - through the process.

Definitely for the best for all parties. Really good kid who came in under less than ideal circumstances and lost all confidence within the first several games this year. Despite that he supported the team all year and didn't make anything about himself. His HS coach on the other hand...

Louisville adds to self-imposed sanctions:

The school will announce Wednesday that it is stripping itself of two scholarships and two official visits in the coming years. The scholarship reductions, from the NCAA maximum of 13, will be one apiece for 2017-18 and 2018-19. The official visit reductions will be one apiece this year and in 2016-17.

Louisville will also reduce its recruiting days by 30 this year – missing 24 this month and the remaining six in July. That is an approximate 24 percent reduction in recruiting opportunities for the season.

Clearly expecting worse and hoping to show contrition and redemption before the hammer comes down.

Fwiw Chino will be a grad and Kaleb is not. They were buried on the bench and did not crack the rotation in a year where Syracuse literally had 9 scholarship players available (Chukwu took 1 of the 10 available schollies and was forced to sit due to transfer).

Someone needs to tell Boeheim a 7-man rotation will never be successful come March. It's not possible to make an Elite 8 and 2 Final 4's in the last 5 years doing such a thing. Players will be too tired. Better to play 9 and have fresh legs for the knock out in the quarters of the NIT.

I think it may have to do with finding the right guys to be able to run the 2-3. They are pretty rare nowadays, it's hard to find more than 7 and compete at a high enough level to get to the final four, but then your point of tired legs comes in. Catch 22.
