Look at who is coming off the bench at the top 6-8 schools and compare to our starters.

Then compare the starting 5 of the bottom half to our starters.

That is why Pastner does not want to measure success this year by wins and losses, and that is 100% fair imo.

In case you're wondering how/why L'ville gets off with basically no punishment for hiring/providing hookers to "perform" for recruits, here's a decent read ....

http://www.wdrb.com/story/33436268/...es-rick-pitino-louisville-his-greatest-assist

But McGee never made a bigger play for the program than he did over the last 12 months. He helped U of L by not hurting the program any further by stiff-arming the NCAA with silence.

...

McGee didn’t cooperate, talk or even whisper any discouraging words to the NCAA. When last heard from, McGee was waving off a reporter while driving an Uber vehicle in the Kansas City area.

Basically says what we all have known for years, the NCAA has no teeth. No subpoena power = no punishments.

How much you wanna bet the would-be coach, turned Uber driver received some con$ideration for his silence?

Gotta feel bad for some MAC team who has a player use a #3 pencil on a HS standardized test in the next couple years. Because of UnC and Lville they will probably lose all their scholarships and their coach will be publically executed.

The one thing I wondered about Louisville was that the coach who spent >$5K had to turn in some kind of expense voucher or access funds somehow. If he got the funds from a booster then yea no paper trail. But the NCAA does have the ability to look at every bit of money spent by the basketball program to see if it went through that process. If it did then you do nail the university.

This is stupid and it's actually a damn shame they're even charging Petino. How the hell do you only go after the coach? You give Penn State football program basically the death penalty for something that arguably had nothing to do with the program itself and all you do to UL is go after the coach because it was his staff?

NCAA changed their rules a couple of years ago to try to address the dynamic where a coach did something bad and then left - and all the NCAA could do was punish the original school and the team as it now stood. So they moved to an approach where the coach is on the hook on the basis of what he should have done to monitor his program - and on the hook personally. You saw this approach with both Larry Brown at SMU and Jim Boeheim at Syracuse who received suspensions based on failure to monitor their program. Same thing here.

Well they set this precedent with USC football when they hammered Pete Carr........wait.....how did that go again? :bored:

The NCAA should just start denying post-season benefits to schools. Let the kids play, but don't let the school get any money from post-season participation of team/conference. It should be the only penalty. Only question would be for how many years.

And handcuff the coach to the school for the duration of his contract.

Some tweets by his afternoon about Jayson Tatum going down with a serious foot injury during dook's NBA combine.

I hope the kid recovers... On January 5th.
