Unfortunately, the losses from HB2 are mostly concentrated in the towns and cities that least support it, so I'm not sure there will be any changes unless the legislature flips. The republicans did a great job gerrymandering the state's districts after winning control in 2010, so a 50-50 state ends up something like 75-25 in the state senate.

It was stated on the news down here that it's steadily losing steam with republicans as well. It will be repealed regardless

There are some things i actually agree with in the law, but from a pure political perspective they need to repeal it and point folks to the court cases underway in opposition to the Justice Department edict that is essentially the Charlotte law imposed on all school systems. Say they still think they are right but not worth the short term pain and it is still going to get sorted out in the courts.

Despite the cordial conversation so far on this thread, I am requesting folks stop talking about the NC law in the context of politics. I am fine with talking about ACC implications, if it's possible to keep it within that context. Otherwise I'm going to start removing posts to preempt going too far off topic and a thread lock as was done in football forum version. Thanks.

Based on how good the rest of the league yes. He actually picked us ahead of BC, which many aren't. Things are looking up already.

They did a team by team preview on the podcast. They seemed Feb 11th the "toilet bowl" and said that game will determine which team goes 0-18 in the season.
