An icon in the sport. Perhaps.

And maybe you've hidden something we don't know in the last portion of your post (fingers crossed).

Seriously though...what makes him an amazing coach here in 2018?

He’s not, which is why he will soon decide to retire. He is the Bobby Bowden of baseball and his time too has come. (Crosses fingers.)

Sucks. 1 for 4 against the Pitt panthers in baseball. They are clearly better than us.

Should’ve fought conference expansion. The Pitt dynasty is too much.

You're giving DH way too much credit. BB actually won 2 national championships. DH lost one with one of the best teams ever.

Mercifully the season is over. I listened to the game driving back from some great hiking in the Smoky Mountains. Pitt had a really good pitcher who has our number as does the reliever (but not others as he gave up 9 runs in his last 7 innings). No reason to go into the details of the game; any one disappointing game is understandable. But we've had many this year ...... 1-23 when trailing after 7 with one of the "best" offenses in the ACC speaks volumes to the coach's ability to use his players.

Life goes on and GT baseball is not part of it till next February.

The 1-23 was more a factor of no bullpen. We gave up more runs after the seventh that we scored.

4 games down & these 8 teams still have a shot at making semis:
#1 UNC
#2 CLEM
#3 NCST
#4 DUKE
#5 LOU
#6 FSU
#7 MIA
#12 PITT

Chalk so far... with one glaring exception. Ouch! A push by Miami (maybe if they reach championship game?) or Pitt (have to win it all) gets a 7th ACC team into NCAA tournament.

Does everyone get a participation trophy for the season?

No, two teams out of 14 were eliminated. (tic) So we get our participation trophy. Expect a glowing news item on Ramblin Wreck site about how we made it to the ACC tourney.

I'm rooting for Pitt to beat UNC tonight. Just because it would be fun to see UNC get eliminated so soon. No way Pitt has the depth to win the whole tourney. (But they were good enough to take 3 of 4 from us.)

Hope Miami loses when they play Clemson tomorrow since they are Miami.
