Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State. Hmmmm, that sounds like what a top 4 might’ve been at any point from 1960-2008, when ESPN bought the rights for SEC broadcasts. Perhaps it’s possible the conference has been artificially inflated and overrated by the media, and when the playing field got leveled a bit they got exposed.

I’m liking the CFP a lot right now. Obviously, Tennessee and Georgia failed to meet the playoff committee’s standards of playing close exciting games but other than that it’s been great .

Before the playoffs started he predicted Texas and Georgia would meet for the championship. I just don’t understand how such a brilliant man could be so wrong.

No conference champs made it to the finals, and all first round bye picks lost...

Like with MLB , you don't want the bye in the playoffs

I'm in the minority, I know, but I like ND. I haven't always, but at some point I realized they play real student athletes and run a clean program. The turning point came many years ago. A long time ago --- maybe back to O'Leary ---- Tech opened at South Bend. We were underdogs but won big. Someone posted on the Hive that leaving the Stadium he couldn't believe what good sports the ND fans were. No bitterness, just complimentary of Tech. Then several more Hivers added they had had the same experience. It changed my view of the Irish.

I had to leave the tv with about seven minutes to play. Georgia had the ball at about the ND 12. How did Georgia get no points?

I know they "qualified" and all, but uGA didn't belong in the playoffs.

Why? Just cut 'n paste all the reasons the biased a** media said FSU shld be kept out last year.

I know this was said weeks ago but now that they put out arguably the worst showing of any playoff team, I feel it should be restated.

Love to see the attendance count. Cameras dont show seats - except corner of end zone - looks poor compared to gt vs Kentucky.

An interesting point in this year's CFP:

1st round - all the home teams won.
2nd round - all those first round winners won again.

So, the 1st four seeds all lost their only game and all the 5-8 teams are 2-0.

ESPN had a good breakdown on the play. Az St blitzed but Ewers say that a blitz was coming and repositioned the receivers to the right side. Texas picked up the blitz and the stacked receivers ran a combination pattern with the guy who caught the TD making a great fake out cut inside where the Az guy in man coverage god turned around.

So for all the guys who hate bend but don’t break defense this is why coaches play that type defense.
