When the HC demonstrates that it is perfectly acceptable to rush onto the field and shove the opposing quarter back, and the fans vehemently defend the HC because he "just didn't realize anyone was there": How can you blame Parker Jones for acting just like the HC?

EDIT: That is coaching, and that is on the HC. If he wants his players to be in control, then he needs to demonstrate that himself.

Just to pile on a little more…recall Kirby in 2016 having a two score lead late in the game against Tech with home field advantage and CPJ still beats him. I knew then that for all his organizational talent and recruiting skills this guy was an average in game coach.

Rick Neuheisel was on cfb radio lambasting the ref for calling that penalty. Said the ref's ego got out of control and the contact wasn't a big deal.

I find that ridiculous. As you said, uga has a history in this particular area. All teams spill onto the field but uga is egregious in that regard.

I don't think it's a stretch to think that ref probably had to 'say something' or 'give grace' more than once by the time that incident happened. And, even if he didn't, the rule is clear. Stat out of that big a** white strip. Don't put the ref in that position.

Now I demand my flowers from @Root4GT for my stunning and heartfelt defense of the official.

He’s on the way as we speak.

Freeman stated that the purpose of the mass substitution was to get Kirby to burn a precious TO. Kirby stated he knew this was what ND wanted and chose not to. You could say he made a poor decision there, but that's not the same as getting outcoached. The offsides penalty was not part of either coach’s plan.

It’s not clear to me that Freeman “outcoached” Kirby here although it appeared that way in hindsight due to the offsides penalty and subsequent first down.

Not only this, but I think Kirby misunderstood the substitution rule. He says in the post game presser, he was told by SEC officials, that you couldn't substitute 11 off 11 on like they did
But the ball was never touched, so it was still a dead ball. That's were I think he misunderstood...

Lolol. MARSHALL! Your self-awareness is unmatched!

Luckily ARMY is likely unwilling to sue Marshall over this year's bowl game.

That’s when you know ND is extremely well coached. The center was obviously taught to never touch the ball until other personnel are definitely set.
