Elaborate. They don't pick the field? Just seed a field determined by who/what?There’s an easy system. All the “committee” would have to do would be the seeding.

I have many times. Conference champs only. Maybe top two. CCG is the first round. Seedings for playoff round done be “committee.” Easy peasy.Elaborate. They don't pick the field? Just seed a field determined by who/what?
Makes perfect since my friend!I have many times. Conference champs only. Maybe top two. CCG is the first round. Seedings for playoff round done be “committee.” Easy peasy.
uga was the conference champion. No bias was necessary.Anecdotal.... I haven't scrubbed all the possible connections & obviously potential conflicts of interest. But UVAs AD (Carla Williams) is on the committee. She's a former UGA athlete & later part of their athletic department. I'm pretty sure the rules do NOT require her to recuse herself from discussing UGA re rankings for the committee. Just UVA and/or if she has family/kids as part of other teams discussed.
This was her 1st (of 3) year on the committee.
I'm not suggesting UGA shouldn't have made the field this year... but these committee members have biases. Perhaps they all cancel out... but I doubt that. I also don't have a better system in mind to select a field. I can think of many "different" systems... better is more difficult.
Don't Confuse people with the Facts!uga was the conference champion. No bias was necessary.
Understood. My point was to show an example of a committee member with ties to a team involved in the rankings this year & the next 2. I'm sure there a similar examples with other committee members. My "sense" is some teams benefit & others are disadvantaged by these dynamics.uga was the conference champion. No bias was necessary.
They didn't know the outcome of the SEC CG when uga was playing Tech. If uga loses and then loses to UT, they're out. If uga beats Tech, regardless of the SEC CG, they're in. That's the point that was being made. I don't know if it was intentional or subconscious, but there was a bias in calls made in that game that led to uga not losing.uga was the conference champion. No bias was necessary.
You are correct. And anyone disputing you is trying to rewrite history. We heard before the game, and all during the game, and especially during the overtimes, that uga was in the playoffs if they beat Tech. They didn't know the outcome of the SEC CG when uga was playing Tech. Why wouldn’t they have been in by beating GT. 7 of 8 P4 teams who played in their made the CFP. Only Iowa State didn’t make the CFP. Iowa State lost the Big 12 Title Game 49-19.You are correct. I don't think anyone should dispute that uga, as the SEC CG loser, shouldn't have been in AFTER beating GT. But, if they would have lost to us and to UT, they would have been 8-4, and would not have gotten in over a 9-3 Alabama team or a 9-3 Ole Miss team that beat them head-to-head.Why wouldn’t they have been in by beating GT. 7 of 8 P4 teams who played in their made the CFP. Great game!If you're not watching Arizona State vs Texas, take a look. ASU just tied it with five minutes left.
Ewers has looked absolutely horrible for Texas, hard to believe Manning isn't betterGreat game!
ASU D has been good. If they hadn’t taken the first two plays off, this looks very different right now. ASU has left a ton of points on the field also…
I think they may have been on cruise control a little bit.Ewers has looked absolutely horrible for Texas, hard to believe Manning isn't better
