Just listened to $Echeat Paul Finebaum discuss why ugag will be fine in the playoff and why they still have a great shot of beating ND. Replace ugag and F$U, and it would have perfectly described F$U last year. Ya know, defense wins championships, they don’t need their backup QB to do much and can rely on their running game. It’s verbatim to what the ACC was saying last year and what ole Herbstreit was complaining about how that game would be unwatchable. The bias is so real.

But who'll call it out. Danny Kanell was the only one calling it out last year but he was roundly dismissed as biased himself. It's crazy how they control the narrative(s).

Finebaum was a failed newspaper reporter who got a new start on the radio as a sports shock jock. You don't need talent for that. What he has received
from all of that is access to the right people, which is how he makes his money now.

Finebaum was trolled mercilessly on Twitter when he suddenly became deaf and mute about any discussions involving Tennessee.

Being a shill for the SEC has got to be the easiest job in the world. All you have to do is predict SEC victories and proclaim them head and shoulders over other conferences. And whenever the SEC lays an egg, people quickly forget it and move on because, you know, upsets happen, and NOBODY can predict those.

This makes 3 major games now with national implications that these guys went completely silent on almost immediately after the game was over, 4 if you go back to FSU beating Auburn for the national championship.

I don't watch the talking heads on ESPN, but I've wondered if any of them uttered a peep about the fact that Tennessee was so badly overmatched in their game against OSU.

I didn’t hear a thing. They got beat worse than SMU and by a lower seeded opponent. Silence. And we all know a top team, even an undefeated one, w/o their starting QB is not worthy of a playoff. (And before the lecture about “this year it’s 12 teams,” the mutts were seeded in the top 4.)

The sheer bias is revolting at best.

You need not wonder. I didn’t watch them either and I’m quite certain there has not been a peep.
But they’ll be shouting from the rooftops when SEC runner up Texas takes out its second conference champion on their way through the playoffs. Definitive proof that any SEC team would run roughshod through the likes of the ACC and B12!

Yep. They proved rather conclusively that uga in FSU’s position would never have been left out.

I’ve watched about 3 minutes of talking heads all year which pretty well doubles my watch time from the previous year. What I keep hearing is “Texas is now playing the best football of anybody.” Wow, after beating Clemson (which included some luck, home field advantage, and bad officiating) they were not just better than Clemson, they were better than everybody.

Yup… I could’ve guessed!
These guys are just politicians pushing a propaganda campaign.
One and all, in lockstep, without a moment of hesitation, will tell us Texas, on the heels of a loss, is playing the best football of everyone… as evidenced by an unconvincing win at their home field over a team that none of these experts believe is deserving of / good enough to have been there in the first place.
If you see fallacy in that logic, it’s because your aren’t smart enough to ignore your lyin’ eyes and listen to your trusted experts.

My lyin' eyes tell me Notre Dame looks like the team to beat this year. That defense...

Notre Dame was my pick to win it all until I realized they lost their best defender after the Indiana game. Ohio State looks pretty good too. Only problem with predictions is that these are all one off games. Teams will have perfect games where every player gives a peak performance and games where the team is flat. I’m not sure any team this year is good enough to win when having an off day. Maybe Oregon. We will see with uga. Stockton will have to play well or uga will fall apart.

Agreed…
But the 24/7 sports network has no deal with ND.
TENN has been eliminated in spectacular fashion, UGA had question marks all season and are now without their starting QB and are going against a REALLY good ND, therefore, TEXAS is the greatest team in the land!
The equation and solution are both quite simple.
