Marlins & Mets lead the NL East... with 59 games remaining. Is it time to panic? :)
No, but with a shortened season, you know that your start last year is unacceptable because top 8 in the N.L. makes the dance. By September, I would drop my rotation down to 4. I’m concerned coronageddon new cases will disrupt a roster at an inopportune time, like October....as it goes by!

I'm hopeful the protocols will keep cases down to insignificant levels.

I think the expanded playoff thing is great news for Nationals. Get their starting pitching to post-season healthy & make another run. If you aren't in top 40% of your division or next 2 best records in NL, then you are barely an average team (at best).

I only hope a Soroka or Fried or Scherzer or Strasberg, doesn’t go down near or in the playoffs. Almost need a second asterisk for the team at that point. The season is 1/3 of what it normally would be. If the folks that didn’t like my 150 game season in the past on this site, what are they thinking now? Don’t get me wrong. the entertainment value is a key for the majority of us. The purists won’t want their cardboard cutout on the first row, either. Lol.

Kyle Hendricks threw a complete game shutout at 103 pitches yesterday. Why did Snitker take Soroka out after 70 pitches? He is a great motivational manager, but completely sucks at managing the staff.

There’s been talk a lot of teams could split pitchers for games. So like have Soroka go a few innings then fried take over or some variance if that. Also, this is the first game of the season for these guys. Most pitchers aren’t out throwing a lot of innings in the first game. Hell degrom 3 more pitches in one less inning and I bet that is probably more of the norm than a guy pitching a complete game in the first game. So saying snitker completely sucks then so do the majority of the league. No point getting your players hurt when a virus could take them out just as easy.

DeGrom had a back issue during the summer camp and there was a chance he wouldn't be ready for opening day. Soroka has been healthy and threw 80 pitches in his last scrimmage game. I understand that it's just the first game of the season, but this is something that Snitker has continuously done during his time as manager. There have been a good number of games where the pitcher is going strong and he takes him out around 80 pitches and then the bullpen blows the game. I'm just tired of seeing it. If you always play and manage as if you worry that an injury is going to happen, then you shouldn't be playing or managing.

I think the moral of the story is athletes today are just coddled so much more, it’s weird that anyone would attempt to argue against that. It’s the same with every sport, it’s the same with us men in society as well. We’re just much softer than they were back then and it’s okay to admit. Nolan Ryan and Bob Gibson at 60 probably would’ve kicked the **** out of every poster here in our prime 😂.

Duvall solo shot to right hit a cardboard bulldog in the face :)
Braves 1-0
Since I'm sure everyone is worried about this dog's face, he looked OK after the hit.
His name is Willow and he's the one on the right.
Jeff mcNeil paid $86 for the seat, so his dog's picture could sit there. yes it's a thing in NY now.
