Initially I thought he was smart to let some of the other chips fall where they may, but now IMO he's carrying it too far and it could boomerang for him.
Let him get off to a slow start similar to last year and the fans will swarm like piranha on him ... bringer of rain better be prepared to bring the thunder as well !!
It would be the Braves luck that they spend a ton to resign JD and he hits .225 this coming season:rolleyes:

Nah, he'll be fine. He's too bat-shat crazy to not be. He's probably sittin' somewhere strummin' a banjo. Totally unaware that we're all falling over ourselves wondering where he ends up.

Grant Dayton agreed to a one-year, $655,000 deal with the Braveson Friday, avoiding arbitration, freelance baseball writer Robert Murray reports.
This is his first of three years as an arbitration-eligible player. He should once again work in the middle innings for Atlanta in 2020.

Adam Duvall signed for 3.25 m. This was his second arbitration year.

Shane Greene is going for the hearing. The only Brave eligible who didn’t sign today.

Ozuna favors going back to St. Louis over the Texas Rangers. Signing could come this week.

Shane Greene wants 6.75 m. Braves offered 6.25 m.
He wants a hearing with an arbitrator who has to choose one of those two numbers.
Unless, a settlement can be reached prior to the scheduled date. Right now, impasse.

Mookie Betts got 27 m.
Kris Bryant, 18.6 m.

The $27.5 million annual asking price would make Donaldson the third-best paid player at the position:
1. Nolan Arenado, Colorado: $35 million
2. Manny Machado, San Diego: $32 million
3. Anthony Rendon, Anaheim: $26.07 million
4. Justin Turner, Los Angeles: $20 million
5. Kyle Seager, Seattle: $19.5 million

How many homers do you think JD will hit for the Braves this season? I think he'll hit 42 and he'll be in the All Star Game.

I love you, Brother. Seriously, you are the best!
I am over here wondering if Riley will hit the change up going away or maybe we have to take our super-sub Camargo and insert him at 3B? Mainly because the Dodgers or another team that has been splashless, wants to spend 110 m. and take the Rain Bringer with the wave in the wind going West. Thus leaving us with a goodbye sandwich pick.

I’ll think ahead and say if the ball is still juiced, 35 next season. Good news is he will get off to a better start, hit more doubles, get pitched around more(especially if we can find a #5 hitter, some kind of way or FA or trade)drawing more walks. His average will be higher, say .275, after spending most of 2020 in the .285-.295 range.

If it’s true Minnesota has stopped at 85 m.- they are first out, because Texas hasn’t stopped as far as I’ve heard. We know LA D. can swoop in.
Nats. apparently still have the highest bid, even if deferred money is involved.

For the agent/player sakes, they have to at least pretend like teams are still offering.

Braves could use an upgrade from Inciarte, unless or until Pache takes over....

Breakthrough SP to keep an eye out for:
