Doesn’t look like the Nats. or Twinkies are coming up on their last offers....awaiting the mystery team(s) to come up to 110 m., since the Braves are stuck on 104 m.

From MLB TR:
Even after a run of free agent additions that plug quite a few holes with veteran players, the Nationals do not appear to be shutting the door on top remaining open market star Josh Donaldson — at least, not entirely. The Nats could still make the third baseman fit, but evidently won’t be the team that ups its bid to land him.

JD will be playing in Atlanta in 2020

Most likely true that Washington has put together the highest offer thus far, approaching the 110 m. mark. However, the deferred part might keep them behind the Braves, who could be holding at 104 m. The scuttlebutt about waiting for the Dodgers or Rangers or ?, probably isn’t going to happen, and Team Donaldson is playing Chess with Atlanta(where he would rather be). He’s lucky these teams are leaving their offers on the table. Can you imagine if no team meets that 110 non-deferred amount, for the Braves to match and this lingers on beyond Spring Training? Not going to happen, due to the demand. Some are saying he will sign by the end of this week still, even if he takes less. Definitely holding up Ozuna, and the few FAs that are left out there. Texas is negotiating with Todd Frazier. Hold on tight, it’s a roller coaster off track.

I think the ball is in the Braves court and AA will reel Josh Donaldson in;):cigar:

For a few months, it appeared Washington would meet the 4 years/25 m. AAV-and they did. Then the rules changed. Once Atlanta met those terms, he wanted to go all Boras and solicit mystery teams to up the ante in salary. I don’t know when it ends. In a perfect world to teach these agents, all bids would go off the table(players union would call collusion)and in June a club would sign him to a 1 year Keuchel deal @ the prorated 17.8 m. amount. It won’t happen. You are right, he will be back with the Braves. It’s what he wanted all along. The agent wouldn’t care if he signed to play in Buffalo through the Winter, as long as the highest dollar comes in.

Donaldson did want to sign before Christmas(one of my Trust contacts was right).
Seems like bids are at a stalemate, and Twins may have moved on:

....slow news week or month, for Braves Baseball.

Aye man, I got a lot riding on this (Donaldson re-signing in Atlanta).

My 100% crystal ball pick rate is at stake!

Same here guys. I have no idea. Getting impatient, too!
I called around this morning. No news.

It seems Minnesota doesn’t think they have a chance, according to the news up there. They are locked on 4/85 m. ?

Nationals made other moves. Offer still on, per K.R.(Fred might know more?). Trade talks haven’t agreed with them, like Bryant. Money for J.D. has deferred amounts.

Braves seem to be below Nats., not moving up to 110 m.

Teams seem to have made their best bids, and holding. Will a mystery team come in?
Will Rain Bringer cave in and sign with his preference, Atlanta? Stay tuned in....

Initially I thought he was smart to let some of the other chips fall where they may, but now IMO he's carrying it too far and it could boomerang for him.
Let him get off to a slow start similar to last year and the fans will swarm like piranha on him ... bringer of rain better be prepared to bring the thunder as well !!

Where do I sign up for this deal? Giving new meaning to the “hot corner.”

That's a nice plate. I gotta get som 'Q in me soon.

That said, per my sources (i.e. me), the Braves eat at Fox Bros. Seriously.

And I'm sure Scheurholz was heading to a really urgent meeting when he nearly bowled me over trying to get up from his table as I walked by.

I mean, it's not like I was gonna go all fan-mode and start asking him a bunch-a questions. I never woulda done that. :D
