Well gents. Enjoy the weekend's baseball. Things are not looking good. Saw an ESPN report where sources say networks have been informed to prepare for alternate programming starting Monday. Sucks!

>ridiculous and absurd

MLB investigation finds Marlins players failed to follow coronavirus protocols on Atlanta trip, per report
" The league was forced to postpone the Milwaukee Brewers' home opener against the Cardinals after two St. Louis players tested positive. " > Yeah, right > over TWO? so why do they have a 60 man extended roster?

Such a bummer, Fred.
in Ga., we had over 4K new cases yesterday. The graph shows us spiking upward through the end of July.

I kept thinking during June, will someone come up with the idea of testing all the players as they arrive in camp and keep them in one locale for the next 4-5 months. Fly corporate charters. No outsiders, a baseball quarantine like a boot camp?

Maybe this is an encouraging sign... ?

Good we should play. The guys just need to stay away from the groupies and in their rooms. Order door dash and grab a case of beer from the Quiktrip and just chill.
If you don’t want to be the fish hall monitor, would you take on bow hunting leader? Get ‘em out in the woods away from people with any off baseball time(although they shouldn’t have much of that).

Atlanta leads all 30 teams by striking out 11.44 avg. per game(meaning the most).
Last year: 9.06 was 21st in MLB(9 teams whiffed more than the Braves).

The Braves lead the majors in runs scored and RBI's. They are in the middle of the pack in HR's and BA.

More good news? That is a question. It seems good if MLB is reintegrating the Cards.

If they want to fix problems like the Marlins and Cards, force them to field a team. If they have to quarantine their entire roster, they’re responsible for flying in replacements and playing whatever they can get to show up, managers, etc included. There’s thousands of people out there that would love to fill in that can follow the rules.

My favorite part about the #chopon situation is that due to the coronavirus situation, instead of high fives the whole TEAM does simulated chop on with their hands. Seems to be a lack of communication between the marketing and operations departments lol.

How wide can you make the bubble around the teams? Are the teams going to test the minor league players every other day to ensure that when they bring in replacements, they are virus free?

They could bring in replacements for during the period players/managers have the virus, but they wouldn't be able to replace them fast enough to not miss any games. If a replacement is necessary, they would have to be tested and it would take a day to get the results back. That roster spot would probably be vacant for 1 or 2 games. They could probably play that way with 1 or 2 players testing positive. If the number gets to 6, or especially 19 it would become very difficult.
