Yall pay attention to Fried and Flowers body language... something is going on there
That couldve been what I was noticing. A lot of head shaking back and forth while Flowers was signing pitchesWhat was happening? I listened on radio again, it sounded like they weren’t getting the calls they wanted on the inner half and were frustrated with Torres behind the plate. Is that what you’re referring to or were they bitching at each other?
I like it. Speeds up the game a little bit.Do like the 3 batter minimum for relief pitchers. Would have liked an entire inning(unless injury legitimately occurs and keeps the pitcher out for a minimum # of games afterwards)served by one reliever, but guessing we have to “walk” before we can “run-s.”
Can you elaborate on exactly what you mean by "speeds up the game"?I like it. Speeds up the game a little bit.
Just the pace of play. I don't have to watch the manager come out and put in three pitchers in an inning to face three different hitters. I really don't care how long the game takes to be played, but constant action makes it more exciting. Can you elaborate on exactly what you mean by "speeds up the game"?
I think that is a catch phrase that means different things to many people. I know you are a baseball fan... so, I assume it's more than turning a 3.33 hr game into a 3.25 hr game.
I don’t believe it’s only about speeding up the game, for me. Although, I have no problem if this newer solution does attain such a goal. Purists won’t care one way or another. My thing is when we have a 25 or 26 game roster of players, having a pitcher bat as a PH or running out of guys in extra innings, waters the game down. Can’t stand watching a reliever come out after one hitter and he’s done. Another rag arm or “cold pitcher struggling” has to go 5 innings to finish a 15 inning game. As I stated yesterday morning, a full half inning would be fine with me for each relief pitcher(IMHO). In the good old days, a team only needed 8 pitchers and 3 were hardly used. Lol!Re: minimum batters for a relief pitcher
I don’t like it at all, that’s just me. People have been bitching for the last few years and getting louder and louder about speeding up baseball games because they’re boring. I don’t like that we are catering to that crowd. Ryen Russillo said it best when he said people that don’t like baseball because they think the season is too long or the games are too slow just don’t like baseball. If you shorten the season or shorten the games those people still don’t like baseball. So why change because they’re bitching? Baseball is perfect as is, before these changes. The strategic maneuvering of bringing in specialists to face one batter or get one out and then pull him for another specialist to face a lefty is what makes the game great. Too bad if its not fast enough for people.
Huge win last night!

It’s o.k. by me. They pay these guys way too much money to not let them earn it. You can either pitch or you can’t, as it catches up to them eventually when they are holding on because a lefty has a sweeping curve and can only face a LH hitter with his one pitch left in his arm. With the three batter minimum, it’s a compromise between your one hitter and my 1/2 of an inning. One of us likes the DH, the other wants a pitcher to bat. Although that scenario is moot this season, and could be permanently.I disagree with 100% of your post. But it’s all good.
