Funny, but bowl games no longer excite me....hardly at all. Our home games against big teams excite me MUCH more.

78 teams needed to fill bowls

59 teams already bowl eligible
20 teams one win away from bowl eligibility
31 teams need 2 (or more) wins...not mathematically out of bowl eligibility
20 teams cannot (mathematically) reach bowl eligibility

Ga Tech is 2nd in APR (behind Minnesota) of the 20 teams one win away.... not how you want to get IN; but bodes well if we end up with only 5 wins and there are not 78 teams with 6 or more wins.

Good point, but we will get our 6th win this Saturday, and we will get it bigly.

Sounds strange, but we could end up in a pretty solid bowl if we win out. Probably Camping World. If you look at the ACC standings, only NC State, Clemson, and Miami are ahead of us.

CFP, Orange Bowl, and possibly Citus go first...fourth team goes to Camping World. Not all that unlikely...even more crazy if both Miami and Clemson make the playoff could potentially make the Citrus.

How do the tiers work out though? They only have to use the standings to a certain extent and then it's broken down into tiers where they can pick from a group of teams.

Citrus bowl won't have an ACC team unless the orange bowl has a big 10 team. I think we end up with a teir 1 bowl game unless we win out and NC state losses a game, and even then VT might get the camping world bowl.

7-4 will get GT the Music City probably which could possibly be a matchup with Northwestern or Michigan State.
Yes 7-4 looks good, 8-4 looks even better (need to sign a 12 game and beat the mutts) However if we beat duke and lose to UGAg.... a 12th game gets us to 7-5... With our tough schedule we should be able to beat out another 7-5 team for a tier 1 Bowl... No 12th game... 6-5 may get us the Military Bowl, but we also could end up in the who gives a S!!!! Quick Lane Bowl....Who Knows

Too bad the ACC doesn't have an agreement with the Las Vegas Bowl a matchup between GT and UCLA would be cool.

I think the Orange Bowl will get a Big10 team this year. They are probably going to be left out of the CFP, but then where are you going to put PSU, OSU, and Wisconsin.

That is good, then ND plays in Citrus and allows NC STATE the Camping World Bowl... IF We do not get a BIG10 opponent Notre Dame will be slotted in the Camping world Bowl and push everyone down and almost ensure that Tech (minus a 12th games) gets hosed, Quick Lane or Birmingham Bowl... We need a 12th game... If no one wants to play us than we need to get FCS Northern Colorado to come to Bobby Dodd.... I mean if we are Bowl eligible a FCS at this point is doable.... UMASS and UTSA (Even if we go to UTSA) should be open to us...
