You will see guards controlling the ball during tournament play during tight games for that reason. We dodged a bullet with a 50% shooter on the line late but that was the way it played out. I'm just glad it didn't cost us the game after such good effort by the entire team.
No doubt. But the ball ended up in soirée’s hands off the rebound. He almost hurt himself trying to get rid of the ball as fast as he could. He really shouldn’t go zero for four no matter who he is

In general Nate did control the ball for most of the stretch run. Soares free throws were an anomaly

We were down 10 in the second half when I had to run a quick errand in my car. I get back home and we are up 8 with less than 5 minutes left. Was my reaction to settle in and watch the rest of the game? No, I run out to the car and drove back to where I had been! 🤪 You're welcome. 🙂
Thank you for understanding sports jinx rituals. And nobody change their underwear until after the next game

Just got back from AMC, great gutty win! Guys really dug deep. Our fanbase needs to get its s@#$ and get to the Dome. Student attendance today was awful. Loved the heart our guys showed.
I hope students who didn’t attend experienced FOMO. That was fun as hell. Big shoutout to Louisville fans who encouraged our fans to wake up and impact the game.

Wow. Didn’t get to watch but for once will watch the recording instead of quietly deleting it!
Yay team! Way to keep working guys!

I get this. We haven't always been fun to watch. We were today, even when missing shots and allowing an open 3 occasionally. It seemed We were playing D with more energy more consistently. That translated to O.

I knew Reyne Smith could stroke them but did not realize he's averaging nearly 4 3PM per game on 41% shooting. Mike Devoe-level accuracy but if Devoe doubled his attempts per game. This is probably not the game to give a lot of help defense and just make Chucky Hepburn beat you off the bounce. Here's him hitting 10 3s against SMU a couple weeks ago.

I nominate this post as the best jinx post of the year. Smith went 1-5 from 3.

were not worthy waynes world GIF

For what it’s worth, any fan of futile no ball movement over dribbling offense should watch Carolina try and run an offense against Duke right now

I’m gonna hit you with this one more time for good measure, because you asked for it. Souare only had the ball because he got a defensive rebound. Then he smartly tried his best to pass the ball to a guard right away, but Louisville smartly fouled him immediately before he could get rid of the ball. It wasn’t ideal, but if we had a team full of 6 foot guards that shoot 88% on free throws, then we probably don’t get that rebound and Louisville gets a put back score. It is what it is. It happened. Luckily we had enough of a lead and we got a stop on the next possession, so the missed free throws didn’t hurt us. Oh, and btw, Souare is a 25% FT shooter, not 50%.

We were down 11 at half. When we came back to game time, it was 38-27. They took a point away from us during halftime. Does anyone know why?

Dang. I mispelled his name all game long. I had the a in the wrong place. Now that I see it in your post, my way just looks wrong.

I recorded it. I almost want to go back and watch it again. The play-by-play guy couldn't distinguish Souare from Ndongo. He kept calling Baye "Souare." Oddly strange when Baye is a star on the team and Ibrahim is a role player.
