So far, he has NO 3 point shot so he’d hurt the team at the 3-4….I believe the NBA projects him as a 3-4 player, and he needs to develop a 3 pt. shot. Of course coach needs him at the 4-5.

Yes. The message I took from George was that he was trying too hard to get the ball to others and not taking the shot when it was there. He said Coach Stoudamire made his living with that mid-range shot and knew George can make them.He has to be a scoring threat post high pick or the rest of the offense falls apart. CDS is pushing for the obvious. I thought George was very efficient and impactful with his decisions to shoot/pass in this game. He has been getting better the last several games. Much less pounding the ball looking for THE pass. Hit the roll if it is there, take a shot if everyone drops off or simply move the ball and keep the possession going. Getting much better.
He was officially weighed & height measured at last year’s NBA Elite Camp. If he lost at least 20 pounds during his trip home in order to collect NIL $, I can understand why that would piss off CDS. That’s a lot of weight to lose at his height and would put him at or under 200 lbs. Seriously doubt that would have been an NBA recommendation or that CDS would not have been aware of such a recommendation. But it might explain his being manhandled & chuckled at by Bearcat players who dominated him back in November and his early season performance level & constant foul trouble. At least he looks to be back on track now.
He was 226 at nba g league elite camp which was held fairly shortly after the season concluded last year. I doubt he dropped much weight between the end of the season and the elite camp. Plus he is still listed as 240 in the media notes for the Clemson game which could easily be updated if anyone cared to. My only point is that I don’t think we can glean much from the media guide. I mean, teams notoriously lie about physical measurements anyway.Last year's media guide: 6'9" 214 lbs
This year's media guide: 6'9" 240 lbs
He doesn't look 240 to me. He looks like the 226 he's reported to be. That would be 14lbs less than what he supposedly weighed when that media guide was sent for layout/print
Come'on, he's hitting over 36% !!So far, he has NO 3 point shot so he’d hurt the team at the 3-4….
This play in particular is what got the momentum back in our direction for good. Made the building shake.
^Three things.
1. I said several games back that George needed to be more decisive in his decision making and take the shot every time the defense leaves him wide open. Just wanted to say, “I told you so.”
2. Ndongo has definitely been less fluid and athletic for most of this year but seems to be playing back into form. His early lack of athleticism has been a real puzzle, as if he was playing at an unfamiliar weight and not yet comfortable in his own body.
3. The dunk by Terry was a great team and crowd pick me up, but the play that finally broke the spirit of Louisville was later when a great defensive play led to a McCollum fast break and feeding Ndongo for an alleyoop dunk. Crushing for the Cardinals and caused a steady exodus of fans in red afterwards.
